Probably the best Italian food I’ve had outside of Italy. Absolutely delicious with a homely atmosphere. Family owned and operated, the chef being an Italian mom. Homemade pasta, homemade Alfredo sauce with every order, homemade desserts and a whole bunch of other things. Authentic, cute, and very filling. Highly recommend.

You know that you are in an authentic Italian restaurant when the Chef (aka nonna) is sitting in the corner overseeing all aspects of the business. The food is all home made mostly by the owner, Mrs. Franchino. The staff are Mrs. Franchino's children and grandchildren. The service is prompt, the food hot and portions perfect. My sweetheart and I spent three days in beautiful San Francisco and ate at Franchino's all three nights. My theory, why rsik a bad meal when you know what to expect at Franchino's. From Canada we say "grazie ancora signora. Delizioso."

Read the reviews about this place and decided to head out for dinner on a weekend. So glad we did!! The food is amazing and good portions and great value. The hospitality was above the rest. They make you feel like family. The owner was serving and chatting with everyone there.I cant wait to go back!

This place is great. Some of the best Italian food my wife and I have had. Outstanding flavor, due to everything being homemade and fresh. We had the giant prawns sautéed with butter, lemon and garlic with homemade pasta and a Caesar salad. Then we shared the tiramisu. All of it was incredibly good. Great service by the staff as well. A great family run restaurant. We highly recommend this place.

Delicious, freshly prepared food, warm and friendly service, and a classic North Beach Italian restaurant atmosphere make Franchino my spot for an evening meal in the City. This place has been family run for 30+ years and has kept up the quality of mama's authentic Italian cooking. I'm looking forward to my next visit (which will be soon!)

We went here after our walking tour (SK Lousy Tour - which was amazing) and our guide suggested this place. It's tiny, quaint and like stepping into your grandam's kitchen (if your Italian). My hubby had Cioppino and I had a creation thought up by our waitress, Maria (pappardelle w cream, prosciutto, mushrooms and peas - but not carbonara). We will definitely be back!
