Had the Eggs Benedict. I thought it was really tasty. Husband had the Union Jack sandwich. It was huge. Only negative might be the prices, which are fairly high.

The food is a bit expensive, but the quality was excellent. The service was very professional and attentive, the space was clean and the food was delicious. What took my family and I by surprise was how delicious the avocado toast was. It seems like something that simple can only be so excellent, but every component elevated the dish to a point where I would consider it the very best avocado toast I’ve ever had.

We had an excellent breakfast at Frederick’s! The food was fresh, flavorful, and they even offered gluten-free toast, which was a great option. The staff was super attentive and friendly—the guy overseeing everything brought us complimentary homemade potato chips that were light, crispy, and absolutely fantastic. It’s such a welcoming spot with great food and great service. We’ll definitely be back!

It takes a special set of skills for 5 people behind the counter do nothing while the queue is growing enormously.
It takes another set of skills to get the order totally wrong.
This place definitely succeeded hiring the most irrelevant staff and the staff succeeded to screw up everything.

Really poor hospitality considering how nice the space is. Staff just sat there talking instead of greeting me and looking up to take my order, while the place was completely empty. Only the nice barista in the corner even acknowledged I was there. When these two guys finished their conversation was when they decided to notice me.

I just asked for a banana and they stupidly gave me the greenest one. When I tried to get their attention I was ignored again. He finally noticed me when I decided to just swap them out, and literally thought I was stealing it when I just placed the order less than one minute ago. So he proceeded to yell at me how I was in the wrong. So THIS you have time for…?

They need to work on the pound cake. Also, watch the receipt cause they pre-add the gratuity

Solid breakfast sandwiches but that is the dryest, most flavorless pound cake I've ever had. I wouldn't wish that pound cake on my worst enemies.

The prices are beyond outrageous.
Not recommend, take a short walk and go have a breakfast nearby in a nice diner in.

These guys have a shady system of charging you for your order. Beware that they will charge you a higher “pre-authorization” amount (that is what they say) and never settle it for the actual amount. You will need to ask for an itemized receipt so that they close your check else you are paying a hefty 30% surcharge to their pockets that they conveniently keep. Most people don’t notice how much they have been charged or bother to check it. Please check it so you are not ripped off by them!

Outrageously expensive & disappointing experience. 1 Large cappuccino and 1 avocado toast was $35!? We were waiting for 10mins for our avocado toast order. Do not waste your time here.

The cappuccino was practically all steamed milk, could not taste the espresso. The avocados were barely ripe and tough to chew. The sourdough toast was the only good part of the meal.

They advertise fresh squeezed juiced, that’s a lie. We saw the employees pouring from prepackaged cartons found at local grocery stores. They don’t even have a proper espresso machine, it’s those digitized premade machines found at hotel lobbies or high end dealerships.

As we were leaving, we overheard the server stop one of the customers from refilling her water bottle from the complementary water pitcher they had set out. The server said the complementary water is only for the restaurant and if they wanted bottle water they should purchase it at the counter.

Overall it was unreasonably priced for the quality and a complete waste of time.

You can’t miss this place for breakfast or coffee. We stayed at The Clift for 4 nights and we went every day. Everything from bread, omelette to avocado toast was amazing. The service from the baristas and server was great as well. Armando is a great guy and recommend to have a chat with him about SF if you want to hear cool stories.

Coffee was pretty mid American coffee, better go to dunk. Crossaint was below supermarket quality.

Nice looking coffee shop attached to the Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel. Cinnamon roll was bone dry inside with next to no cinnamon, chocolate croissant had a tiny piece of rock hard chocolate. Croissant was ok, the Mocha was the hottest coffee I have ever consumed. Expensive. $50+ for 2 coffees, 3 pastries and a juice.

Overpriced for basic breakfast food. I understand it's San Francisco but this is very clearly a more casual breakfast environment since most things are premade for takeout. Definitely overpriced for what it is.
