Parking is a pain. Ramen is kind of hard to chew. Portion is huge, staffs are friendly, price is decent, love their sizzling plate curry rice with chicken katsu or pork katsu. Curry was thick and flavorful, it was poured from a gravy jar on the sizzling hot place. We visited on a Sat evening, they're understaffed, it was a bit difficult to get their staffs attention for water, order and check. We also ordered the octopus balls and tempura, it's good too, I like to dip the tempura with the curry gravy than the tempura sauce.

Good atmosphere.Ordered pork cutsu curry rice. The pork is fried a little bit too much.Visited during a weekday for lunch. The restaurant was empty.

The pork belly didn't match the soup at all Noodles from the frozen section of the grocery store or some Sun noodle variant. Pork belly also cooked at way too high of a temperature the meat was dry LOL how do you make pork belly dry

a must try curry spot in the mission! my friend had been raving about how delicious the curry was and the portion sizing. we ordered edamame, garlic broccoli, vegetable tempura, and fried calamari for our appetizers. everything was absolutely delicious and came out quickly. my friend ordered the hamburger teppan curry while my bf and i ordered the steak teppan curry. not pictured is the tonkatsu ramen that honestly can be shared amongst two people. i love that it comes in a sizzling plate for our teppan curry so that it's always kept warm! the sunny side up egg paired with the japanese curry was so flavorful. parking is relatively hard to find though as it would be expected in sf. i would love to come again to try their black curry!

Authentic ramen with a creative twist - serving curry and ramen in the same bowl! My friends got the curry ramen but I got the "California" ramen, basically a deconstructed sushi roll with crab, seaweed, avocado, and cucumber. Udon noodles had amazing texture, slimy but with a nice al dente bite.Didn't have to wait long on a Friday night, quick in and out.

Our party of 4 arrived at Fumi Curry around 6:30pm on a Sunday night. Parking was a bit hard to find but we eventually found a spot on the street a few blocks down. The store looks small but like many other places is surprisingly deep and had a separate seating area in the back. It was really warm inside and a little humid, likely from all the teppan curry plates. We were seated quickly at the back and our food came out not long after we ordered. There are signs that speak to how the restaurant cut down their menu to focus on their curry, so I had high hopes that this would be some amazing curry. -pork katsu teppan curry ($16.50): this comes out with a layer of scrambled egg, a nice mound of rice and katsu topped with a lotus chip. The curry comes on the side in a gravy boat, which an employee pours onto the teppan plate for you (though we asked to be allowed to pour the rest of ours on our own). The plate gets VERY smokey and steamy once the curry gets poured on and its surprising how hot these plates are when they come out - you can actually see the print of where the plates have been placed on the table before. The curry was a bit more tart/tomatoey than most curries that I expect to get out at a restaurant, and was a great warming meal. My only wish was that it came with some sort of veggie by default. I did ask for some fukujinzuke pickles halfway into our meal, which helped. Overall, Fumi Curry is a solid curry place with a novel teppan curry option which is fun, though i'm not sure it adds much to the actual dish. When seated in the back half of the restaurant, its a little difficult to flag down a worker for water or the check. Would come back for curry on a cold night!

It's starting to get cold outside and I start craving soups and warm dishes. My coworker had a couple ideas in mind for lunch and I jumped at Fumi for the Curry dishes. I had been once before for the ramen, but was craving curry and we decided to go try it out. To start we ordered the fried calamari, which was good. Each of us ordered a curry rice plate, which was pretty big. We got the chicken katsu curry, pork katsu curry and the tender beef curry. The food came out pretty fast, which was good because we were on our lunch break and needed to get back. Plate was so big I brought my leftovers home. The food was VERY satisfying and warm on a cold rainy winter day.

Authentic flavors for ramen and curry rice with some nice presentations for teppan yaki curry. I stop by when I'm craving some Japanese flavors and because it's only a few minutes walk from my work site. Can be a little expensive if considered against what you might spend in Japan but if you factor in the cost of airfare and hotel costs, it comes out to be pretty cheap. Miss the fukujinzuke, sweet pickled veggies that goes with curry that used to be on the table before Covid but I guess now we get a small amount with curry.

When I'm craving ramen, I mean FUMI. Very cozy place with lots of seating & jazzy music subtly in the background. My go to order is the spicy miso pork belly ramen & I usually add spinach & broccoli. Can't go wrong with garlic edamame or the pork belly buns.I moved away from the area when covid hit, & was worried they wouldn't be able to stay open or maintain the quality and flavor I always adored. But I was wrong. The chefs and service staff are just as attentive as they have always been and the food hasn't decreased in quality one bit.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night and was able to get a table instantly. I got the Katsu Teppan Curry which was very solid but not spectacular and came out sizzling hot I burned my tongue (I will be more patient next time). Service was great and the ambiance had a cozy feel. We were able to find street parking nearby as well. Would recommend if you are in the Mission/Bernal Heights area!
