Best Katsu in San Francisco!! I had Ganji Katsu. Very generous portion. Very tender meat inside with Crispy coating outside. Will be back to try other stuff on the menu soon!!

Tried Ganji for the first time and it was pretty good. The portions are fairly large and filling, with a nice assortment of sides. We ordered the mushroom tempura which was really good. Most of our party ordered the cheese tonkasu. I feel like the cheese didn’t add too much to the dish. The pork was really tender and tasty though. If I were to go back I’d get it without the cheese.

Ganji is one of those places with heart.
The staff at Ganji are friendly and demonstration attention to detail.
On a number of occasions they have brought us extra pickles as well as different pickles they have been trying out. Which was fun and appreciated.
The slow cooked tonkatsu covered in cheese is awesome. It as well as the general experience keep me coming back for more.

The food was delicious, and the presentation was spot on. The slow-cooked tonkatsu was a highlight — super tender with a crispy coating that was hard to beat. The tamago katsu was also fantastic. On top of that, the service was friendly and attentive!

Ordered omakase don, and seriously, drop the word omakase. Putting a nice edible flower on my plate doesn’t make it omakase. It’s a shame to call it omakase. The fish was not fresh. I had to wash it down with tea.

Not recommended. The fish was rubbery and warm - disappointing

Ordered the salmon teriyaki for $22. Granted that’s not pricey these days but c’mon, the salmon was a sliver size and the sauce was subpar as well. I go to the Kimochi Senior Center, their salmon is larger and their portions are small. A lot of the seniors says it’s like appetizer size. Now this restaurant’s portion is even SMALLER. This is a ripoff place. Many other restaurants give more value for your money than this place. Won’t be returning.

If you want fried food, it's just fine. If you want katsu, go elsewhere.

It’s mid not anything special. so expensive for food I could make at home. Really not worth it.
Good food not bad but it’s super overpriced and nothing special. You go to a restaurant to eat something you can’t make at home and I could fry chicken and dip it store bought sauce and then cook some white rice. nothing we got was cooked by a chef.

Delicious food and a wonderful, friendly staff. The flavor of the teriyaki chicken was amazing!
They have the most friendly staff I've experienced since moving to California earlier this year.
