Very loud confined space. Fully booked Sunday at 6 pm. First table I rejected then put in a lovely corner spot. Could hardly hear my wife next to me. Had 3 course option. The glazed oyster 4 quarter sized in a broth. Decent but worth 2 bites next scallops. 2 small scallops. Again tasty but small. Next fillet of beef ordered rare and presented medium well. Sent back. 5 minutes later received dish. Not as good as a good steak Highly overpriced wine list. $30 martinis. I won't return

it has been a while since we last visited, and we were delighted by a wonderful meal and experience thanks to the great, delicious menu selections and the amazing service provided by the restaurant team. We were glad to have come back and look forward to returning!

Service is wonderful. Suggestions for pairings, etc, were spot on. Food is amazing. One of our very favorite special occasion locations for the past 2 decades.

We used to love Gary Danko but our most recent experience made us change our mind. The food was okay. It was a very busy 6PM Sunday dinner, I tried to get someone's attention to ask for something but everyone was so busy and will not even attempt to come by even after seeing me. The place was so noisy that it makes it hard to hear when someone is talking. We used to frequent this place but I am really disappointed with the kind of service they provide nowadays. The food is a hit or miss too. GD That's how you lose your one and only Michelin star...🤔 Bye bye...Time to go somewhere else

Exceptional tasting menu, impeccable wine pairing, and unforgettable service. A perfect birthday night.

Gary Danko is a SF staple fine dining restaurant. Its give off great old school dining feels with wonderful service and refined dining. One thing that separates GD from the rest is the portion sizes. You will not leave the restaurant wanting more food. Potion sizes are generous and the way that you can tailor your own experience is just amazing. choose any dishes from the menu to make your own tasting menu is just phenomenal.

It felt just like coming home after a long vacation. From the moment we walked in and sat down until we departed the service and ambiance was fantastic. Everyone was so kind and made us feel welcomed and special. We have been coming to Danko for many years to celebrate my now 93 year old mother and this year it feels like the restaurant has turned things up a notch to their former glory days. It is such a beautiful restaurant and quite proper in their presentation but somehow they manage to make it special and comfortable at the same time. Gary Danko is all our favorite restaurant of all of SF. Keep up the good work and thank you, thank you for making our evening so great.

The lobster is a must try. There were several small dishes compliments from the chef. The staff were the best part

We had a memorable dining experience with our friends. We were greeted by name as we arrived for our reservation. Sherry ushered us to our table. The wait staff was efficient, attentive, yet unobtrusive. The Sommelier, Aaron recommended the wine pairings for our selected dinner menus (all different choices for the four diners). All the pairings were superb. We truly enjoyed the meal and the wine. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion evening, or any evening when you want to have a memorable dining experience.

Great service. Food was hit and miss. Some dishes are excellent, some are just OK. Glazed Oysters with Caviar, Seared Scallops, Duck Breast and Roast Lobster were delicious. Beef Tartare and Quail - not the best. We really appreciate complimentary desert and carrot cake take home gift.

Counties to be one of the best restaurants in SF. Impeccable service and best bartenders around.

I brought my mom here for Mother’s Day and had requested a booth ahead of time. When we arrived, we were seated at a small table between two larger tables, even though there were several open booths available. This felt dismissive and the host still didn't care, especially on a special occasion. Unfortunately, the food didn’t justify the price either, and the service didn’t meet the standard we expected. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Will not be returning

We love Gary Danko. Have dined at GD over the last 2 decades plus. The food, service, and ambience have been consistently very good to excellent in comfortable cozy setting. Just celebrated my mom's birthday anniversary and everyone loved the food. Favorites this current season are the lobster dishes, including the salad, risotto, and roasted lobster. The duck breast is just delicious. The service was very attentive and relaxed. Really enjoy dining at a lovely restaurant like GD that keeps up its high standards for so long and is always an inviting place to share with family and friends.

The service is always friendly and top notch from the moment you enter. Michael at the bar is an incredible mixologist and wine sommelier and great guy! The food was incredible as always! I've been coming here for nearly 20 years and everything is always on point! Congratulations Chef Danko and Greg!
