GIO Gelati San Francisco

The best customer service I have had from a gelato store. The lady was so nice and patient. Great flavors too! I had two scopes of Tiramisu and would go back for more!

Nice Italian ice cream/gelato in a small cozy place.

This place is absolutely amazing and run by Italians, which already says a lot. Even before stepping inside, you can tell the ice cream and the service are going to be top quality. I tried the pistachio and hazelnut flavors—both outstanding. The gelato was clearly fresh, perfectly creamy, and not overly sugary at all. Truly worth it! Thank you Filippo!

This is my favorite gelato spot in San Francisco. I love gelato and ice cream, and I’ve tried a lot, but I always come back here. The shop is really cute, and I think the owners are Italian. The prices are a bit high, but it’s worth it for the delicious gelato experience. I always get the pistachio, it’s my favorite, and I love bringing friends and family here whenever we’re walking around the Marina.

Amazing ice cream: great flavors and environment.

Very tasty! The staff let me try quite a few flavors. I ended up with a single scoop (2 flavors) and got the vegan strawberry and the Italian crema. Street parking is challenging so I parked at the Union Street Plaza garage ($3/0.5 hr at the time of writing this review).

Calling this gelato would be a stretch. Even calling it ice cream would be a stretch. More ice than cream, and flavorless. $8.00 for a single scoop cone adds insult to injury ($13.50 for an ice cream sandwich if you’re a real glutton for punishment). Avoid.

This is a really cute gelato spot. They have seating available inside but also a few benches outside if you want to take in the busy city. The staff were courteous and welcoming. My friend and I were passing by and decided to treat ourselves. We were allowed to try samples and the restrooms were clean to use. It was busy so we were helped right away and I did a little happy dance with my shoulders after I enjoyed the gelato. I would definitely come back here!

Absolute gem of a spot. The gelato is best in the city. Amazing variety of flavors. The owners and staff are warm and friendly.
