I haven’t tried the famous egg tart from the legendary Golden Gate Bakery, even after marrying my roommate, who grew up in the Bay Area for more than 8 years. The custard tart from Golden Gate Bakery is $3.75, which is a little pricey, and it's not my type, so we won't revisit again.
Cash Only and the ladies are friendly...said to call them to checked .

Here goes.......Finally!!! After multiple times getting here and it being closed...last week,NO lines before 5pm...I would say...a solid 8.5 out of 10. Maybe if it came straight out of the oven..I would give it a 9...why not a 10?? Because I don't feel that I have eaten enough egg tart to be an expert ...that being said..I liked King Pineapple Egg Tart slightly better in over all ...though...
The hype around egg custard tart from Golden Gate Bakery is real. People patiently lined up in the weather for the chance to purchase these gems. There is no real set time when the bakery is open, nor is there anything else you can purchase at the bakery. You do not even get to enter the bakery.
