Been here many many times, recently came back for a visit since the pandemic. They serve foods along with savory desserts, everything is homemade. Service and items were great. Definitely will be back!

it's definitely been awhile since I've came here! We got two different kind of mango desserts and their black sesame soup & tofu pudding dessert. Asian desserts always hits the spot but the price though 😭😭😭 Can't wait to eat all of this in Asia for a fraction of the price.

They open until late night. The desserts were okay :) I like the environment being cozy. They will let you customize things from time to time :) I didn’t like the sesame paste but other things are good. They won’t let you split bill so just fyi.

There is no service at all. You go to the counter and pay when you order, yet the waitress had the audacity to ask for tips verbally before serving the food. Rude waitress, doesn’t even serve a single glass of water.

Food served in to-go containers even I said for here, which should be a service I tipped for. Food is mediocre. Atmosphere is not welcoming.

I really can’t believe what happened yesterday 6/7/24…. I will never come back to this dessert place unfortunately. We spent $30 in dessert and only ordered 3 items. Before we left the restaurant the waitress came up to my family and said “you didn’t tip”. At first we thought she said “you didn’t pay” but we paid at the front counter. Then she said “no you didn’t leave a tip” I was so shocked. This is extremely rude and made us feel uncomfortable, the store is very small and everyone was staring at us. The last time I checked tips are earned and optional and to be honest the service sucked so she did not deserve even a $1 tip. I can’t believe she confronted us like this as we were leaving. I told all of my family/friends about this and everyone was in shock when I told them about this encounter. Not to mention they automatically charge tip on the receipt! So she was asking for more?!?! I had family visiting from out of town and wanted to take them to dessert and they honestly left with a bad feelings of SF and the audacity they have to ask people about this.

WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN and EVEN TOLD MY FRIENDS TO NEVER COME. First of all super terrible service. Made us wait to even pay. The working there look so lost. Send over the receipt and so we signed. I didn't put in a tip because I didn't like the service they gave and THEY FORCE YOU TO TIP AS IF IT IS MANDATORY. Ok if the service was good yah I tip. But the girl wouldn't let me go without writing anything. So I got frustrated and put a 0. The item I bought came and that girl told me to clean up after myself like what the heck. They need to fire that girl she was so rude. This is NOT how you treat your CUSTOMERS!!! Anyways I don't get the hype the food is worse than the other places I get the same item.

If anyone planning to come here, I recommend Sweet Honey Dessert. Their food way better.

Golden Island Cafe in San Francisco seems like a popular spot, but my recent visit for dessert left me wanting more. The cafe itself is quite busy, and the indoor seating area is small, making it a bit cramped. This might not be the best place for a quiet and relaxing dessert experience. One of the biggest disappointments was the sago with lychee. The photos on their menu looked promising, but the reality was quite different. The portion size was bigger than expected, but the amount of lychee was significantly less. It seemed like the photos were misleading.Even more concerning was the lack of flavor in the sago. It tasted watered down and offered very little beyond the sweetness of the lychee itself. Unfortunately, the lychee pieces themselves didn't seem fresh either. The avocado milkshake also fell flat. It lacked any real depth of flavor, leaving us wishing for a more vibrant and delicious experience. While Golden Island Cafe might be a bustling spot, my visit for dessert was a bit of a letdown. The misleading photos, watered-down flavors, and lack of freshness left me feeling unsatisfied.

We ordered for dine-in and tipped the waitress, but were totally puzzled when our orders were changed to to-go. The waitress gave us an aggressive eye roll, as if we shouldn't have been in the store at all.
