Food is fantastic. Service is so-so, but food more than makes up for it. NY steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Vegetables that came with it were cooked perfectly too.

Golden State Grill serves high quality food at super reasonable prices. It's the kind of restaurant that I wish this neighborhood (Excelsior/Outer Mission) had more of. I've had slow braised short ribs and New York steak and both were cooked just right. The mashed potatoes and grilled veggies were well cooked and seasoned as well. I've only eaten in the restaurant once (well before COVID-19 days) but I have been getting their food to-go since.

Hidden gem in San Francisco. I was determined to find a restaurant near my friends place in the Excelsior neighborhood. We had hamburgers that were char grilled and delicious. The onion rings were crazy good - possibly the best ever! If you're in the area you must give it a try. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu.

O man idk how I haven't reviewed this place before! Really good food and a nice family place. The little lamp cutlets are fantastic and they make a mean steak. Also the ambiance is nice and friendly servers too.Or you could just get a burger. Those are really good too!

This place is a gem! Great quality food at an amazing price point. We ordered the calamari, jumbo prawns and steak, and everything was so delicious. Ordered through Doordash so cannot comment on the ambience, but the food tasted like something you would find at a very high end restaurant, but at a much lower price.

Great food for a great price. The steak was full of flavor and mash potatoes were spot on! The lamb shank is excellent. I've also tried their zucchini fritters, house salad with chicken, Greek salad, lamb burger, pork chop, and Mediterranean sea bass - all were very good. They even have 2 spots right around the corner for easy pick up during the covid restrictions.

Good food, good prices, neighborhood spot. Family owned (local family) and they show giants games, niners games, boxing, all kinds of sports. Saturday bottomless mimosas at a great price. Christopher at the bar is a true professional, making guests feel at home while managing the front of the house.

GS Grill makes a tasty burger. I started with a bowl of clam chowder $7. It is a creamy soup lacking the usual celery or potatoes with 4-5 pieces of clams. It was a bit disappointing because they don't serve it with oyster crackers. I talked to my waiter and he brought out little pieces of bread. For the GS grill burger $16, I replaced the included onion rings for garlic fries. Bad choice because their garlic fries didn't have a garlic taste to it. The 1/2 pound burger was juicy with a good amount of fresh ingredients. Service was excellent as I was the only customer at 6:30pm. Good job team at Golden State Grill.

This restaurant is so underrated! I'm surprised not many people dine here because it's absolutely amazing! Their food is very delicious. I came here for lunch and dinner on two separate occasions and I was never disappointed. The restaurant is clean and spacious too.
The place after Covid that hasn't changed! Food is good and service excellent. I had the salmon plate and it was delicious.

Mostly was pretty darn delicious. Mashed potatoes and their apple pie could be better. Their steak and lamb shank were top tier tho! Nina our server and another gentleman was super sweet. I would give this place a try if visiting the area.

Cute, hidden gem! I always drove past it, decided to give a try today. The octopus salad almost is identical to Kokkari's salad, 5/5. Place was really clean and comfortable.Lastly, it has friendly service, ill definitely be coming back here.

Bad. Really bad. Ordered for takeout based on the high reviews and really disappointed. Ordered NY Steak, Lamb Riblets, Clam Chowder & Octopus. I think they use lemon and garlic for everything and it was all tart. Also the mashed potatoes that came with the steak were definitely instant mashed potatoes. Overall just gross. Next time ill just eat a frozen pizza and be more satisfied.
