Weekend line can be ~20ish people but goes by fast. Great dumplings and buns!

Good Mong Kok Bakery is an authentic Chinese bakery located in the heart of San Francisco’s Chinatown. You know the food is the legit when the shop is run by hardworking grandmas who operate at lightning speed with minimal English exchange. Thankfully, there are plenty of photo menus to guide you, but I highly recommend having your order prepared on your phone. If you hesitate, they will skip right over you, and honestly, neither the staff nor the regulars have time for indecisiveness.
Everything here is delicious, from the deep-fried meat dumplings to the har gow dim sum to the steamed BBQ pork buns. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s fast, chaotic, and incredibly good, just the way a Chinatown bakery should be.

pork buns… that is all
Lucky that we got there during off-peak hours so no line. Tried the burnt pineapple buns which was tasty but we had better ones. Cash only!

Loved it when I got it last year but this time around they're so aggressively mediocre. Shrimp dumplings are bland and skin is too thick and dry, pineapple pork bun is stale and bland and couldve been baked for longer, peanut and sesame mochi is too soft (no qq texture I wanted)
Really great shu mai and har gow

Went there on a Sunday at around 10h. There was one, two people in front of me. The service was very fast, counter could speak Cantonese and Mandarin.
Don't expect the waitress to make some talk to you. She just asks what you want and you pay :)
The Charsiubao could be filled more, I got 85% dough and 15% filling.
I really liked the Xiumai and the Dantat, really brought me back to my childhood :)

While working in SF Chinatown, I asked my husband to bring me pork buns. He bought dim sum and pork buns from Good Mong Kok bakery. I opened the bag and found a mouse dropping inside of the container with dim sum. I was absolutely grossed out. I will never visit this location again.

Fresh sesame ball, and dim sum, quick service, and right off of the Main Street on Stockton. Staple to the culture and great people.

Yeah the service is awful and they really do touch cash and food and shrimp with the same gloves. I'm just writing this because I got raw beef shu mai. It was pink when it's usually brown and now I feel awful after one bite.

Got the dim sum and char siu bao buns which had a ton of bone fragments in them. Definitely would not go back after that experience.

Great price but food was mediocre and nothing to shout about. Service can be improved. You get what you pay for. Overall, mid.

I waited in line for like 40 minutes but it was worth it. I got the shrimp and pork dumplings plus some others I was curious about. It was all absolutely delicious and I will definitely go back to this place.
