When we arrived in San Francisco, we stayed near Union Square, and Chinatowm was pretty close by. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat in the largest Chinatown in the United States, so we went with the recommendation provided to us....the Great Eastern Restaurant.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated downstairs, and this restaurant had a classic Cantonese setting with white table cloths and a vintage decor.

We loved this unique experience (and so did Barack Obama apparently!). We ordered waaaay too much, but each dish that came our way was delicious. Our kids found plenty to eat, and the way of ordering by paper made everything quick and easy. Definitely not your typical tourist hangout, but excellent authentic dim sum.

Only thing which I was shocked: they put tip automatically on the bill ???
