My experience at Ocean Indian was nothing short of regal—it felt like a true blessing. The food was perfectly spiced, with every bite delivering rich, layered flavors. The biryani was exceptional, featuring succulent chicken thighs that were juicy and deeply infused with spice. The chicken tikka masala stood out as well—the chicken was tender and never dry, unlike many other places.

The real surprise was the gluten-free naan, which was absolutely otherworldly. It’s rare to find such an incredible option that doesn’t compromise on taste or texture.

Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. Unlike some other Indian restaurants in the area, there was no hint of sexism—just genuine hospitality and warmth. The staff made me feel truly valued as a customer, and I was happy to support their business. I’ll definitely be returning!

i can not get enough of their Dahl makani. The lentils are tender and the spice combination is intoxicating. Their staff are incredibly generous and attentive. I couldn't ask for more in an Indian/ Nepali restaurant near me.

Food was very good. Medium spicy was too much for me. The room was cold.

Parking: We had to park more than two blocks away, primarily due to street construction on Geary Blvd and also the limited # of adequate parking spaces in the Richmond District.

Fortunately the 38 Geary bus stops nearby.

Super delicious food, friendly staff and reasonable prices. We had Chicken Momo dumplings, Kadai chicken, Palak paneer (best I've ever had), Baigan Bharta and garlic naan. Everything was super yummy, Baigan Bharta was a little bland compared to how flavorful all the other dishes were.
The total was $80 and we had tons of leftovers.
The tempo of service was definitely on the slower side, which didn't bother us as we weren't starving and enjoying conversation.
Highly recommend and look forward to coming back.

Really sad. I have been ordering not ones and dine in in this place. Always was good experience. Until today. When I order for delivery by Dordash. My favorite Tika masala, nan , and rice. Tikaasala wasn't good at all. Or maybe they put me Butter masala, since I noticed they have it in menu and saw on rewies. It was not seasoned enough not runny not the right texture and the chicken extremely overcooked. I just tasted a bit and put aside all good. Maybe I will give it to some homeless person or toss it away. It was very disappointing when the restaurant that I always enjoy makes such mistakes. If you see your food not the same or taste wrong I understand you guys don't want to lose money and try to sell it but always remember you will lose clients. I am not sure I will order more here. Thank you

i feel that service and food quality is truly amazing. but i’m removing points because the wait time is just far too long. i think the shortest i’ve waited was 20 min and the longest was 30+.

i appreciate them giving us a small dish because the wait time is long but that’s my only qualm with this place with it also not having a heater when it’s cold as there is the sf wind draft always coming through.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ocean Indian Cuisine this weekend , and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with friendly staff who ensured our every need was met.

The food was simply exceptional! We started with the steam cooked memos, which were cooked to perfection and perfect in taste. For our main courses, I highly recommend the Shahi Paneer and Dal Makhni with Tandoori Butter Nan - both dishes were flavorful and presented beautifully and Nans were so soft and cooked to
Perfection.

But the real showstopper was their tea selection! and I was blown away by their extensive menu. I'm a tea enthusiast, and the "Chai Tea" was my absolute favourite.

Overall, I highly recommend the Ocean Indian Cuisine for any occasion. Be sure to save room for dessert and, more importantly, try their incredible tea selection!

Honestly, a 10/10 experience. The food, the service, and overall environment was great. All of the workers were so kind and accommodating. It was the perfect meal after exploring the city all day. Walked right in off the street for dinner and got to pick where we wanted to sit immediately which was great. We ordered the meat platter appetizer, chicken momo, and plenty of garlic naan, basmati rice, and chicken tikka masala. The server described the spice level perfectly and it was so delicious. The chai. iced Himalayan tea, and the mango lassi were all very delicious as well. Some of the best tikka masala we have had for sure! Naan was fresh and perfect seasoned. Great portion sizes too and very great prices for what you’re getting. Clean environment, nice clean tables, and clean restrooms as well. I’d revisit for sure!

We got the Himalayan Thali for 2. Tasty, healthy and big portion sizes. Service was exceptional for the price. My wife is ready to move to Richmond based on this experience. Chai was tasty. I only took the photo of the kheer that was served at the end.

Went here for dinner and the food was delicious - the fried eggplant was a special highlight but everything we got (malai kofta, saag paneer, rice, naan, papadam) was great.
