Nice setting and servers. Not much of a wait at 9:30 on a Sunday. Cool outside but they put on a heater. Food was mediocre. Home fries were the best item; crispy on the outside, creamy within. The Mexican scramble was surprisingly bland. Pancakes were nothing special, kind of dry. They charged an automatic 20% tip on a table of 6, which is fine, but then they presented a credit card receipt with a prominent box inviting us to tip 20-30% more. No one cautioned that we had already tipped so if we hadn't paid attention, it would have been easy to tip more than 50%. Thoroughly dishonest.

We came here for the souffle pancakes and the PB Plate said 2 souffle pancakes . It turns out they were half the size of the regular souffle pancakes so I was really let down. If the menu has said this we would have ordered something different. When I mentioned this to the waitress she just said, "sorry" and left.
Otherwise, the food was quite good and the fruit bowl was really nice.

The Pancake Boy restaurant serves some of the fluffiest, most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had. We ordered the lemon ricotta soufflé pancake and the chilaquiles verdes, and both were fantastic.
The pancake was light and airy, with just a touch of ricotta filling for subtle richness. The portion was generous, perfect for sharing or a hearty meal. The chilaquiles verdes were equally satisfying—crispy tortilla chips in a flavorful green sauce, topped with cheese and a perfectly cooked egg.
With the rain outside, we chose indoor seating, which was cozy and comfortable. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, The Pancake Boy is a must-try!

just got back from NYC where I had breakfast each morning in various midtown diners. Two eggs with toast and potato sides always had a $11 handle. 3$ or 2$ more to add bacon, ham or sausage. Rent in Noe Valley isn't even half the rent in midtown Manhattan. Before you sit down, look at the prices on the menu.

We have been going to Pancake Boy for over two years now and we have small children and while it always seemed that the staff did not like children (not great for a brunch place in Noe Valley), this was only finally overtly confirmed when we went for brunch there today and our 1 year old was having an off day where he was being quite loud. Despite our efforts to soothe him it didn’t get much better throughout our brunch. When we were paying our server told me that there were customer complaints about the noise. I told her I thought it was rude to have expressed this to me despite it not being our fault and doing the best we could and that we were all babies at one point. I do plan to speak further to management but I would urge the restaurant to seriously consider how they treat customers at a family establishment (or really any for that matter). You’ve truly disappointed us and for that we will not be returning.

A small nice outlet for pancakes with both inside and outside seating in noe Valley. They have other options too like omelette, breakfast , coffee etc . Nice decent ambience. Was full when we went

This place was a disappointment, staff service was lacking, uncocked potatoes but still charged full price, didn't offer alternative to make up the awful food and barely wanted to give me coffee, my second cup was only half full. I didn't feel welcomed or comfortable. Not a place I would ever come back to.

As others have said, it's a solid brunch spot in Noe Valley. You can't reserve a table, so you have to get there pretty early to stand in line. Not sure if it's Asian-owned or just staffed, but the menu is pretty eclectic. The ambiance was interesting as it felt like a standard diner inside. I suggest eating outdoors if the weather is nice.
We ordered the ube lattes (can't make these bad) and an order of ube pancakes (delicious and sinful). For breakfast, we ordered an SF omelet (huge and filling) and an avocado toast (delicious with pickled onions).
We went home feeling satisfied! But if you don't like waiting in line, there are other spots that have similar offerings where you can reserve tables.

I came to Pancake Boy while visiting my uncle in SF. I had to try their Banana Marscapone Pancake. It tates good as it looks! It was like eating a banana creame pie! Highly recommend this dish.

The scramble was delicious, huevos rancheros were fine, and the coffee was terrible. I would get the scramble next time

The food is absolutely delicious, though I wish the portions were smaller (and by extension, the price). The lines are very long, but it's worth it. My biggest complaint is how noisy it is inside. There is no muffling any of the sound so it bounces all around the restaurant.
