I spent $130 for delivery. Got all their popular dishes. The $20 po boy sandwich is such a rip off. It's like half a sandwich for $20. So greedy with their portions and expensive. They might have given me half a sandwich by mistake.

If you're passing through, you have to stop by and pick up a po boy for the road. The owner was so kind and made sure every customer was taken care of.

On my trip I had me the Gumbo. The roux was delicious, homemade, and hit the spot. I had a special item they don't usually have, so mine had a little more fat on top. Normally, they skim the fat off the top.

The favors were rich and full. I could taste the earthiness of the bayleaves, the spices, and the richness of the pork.

I highly recommend if you ever get a chance to pass through.

We celebrated my Mom at Gumbo Social last week with friends, family and staff for her 50th S.F.U.S.D. work anniversary.

Atmosphere was amazing. Food was great.

Maaaan those brussel sprouts were amazingly tasty. Will definitely go back for the smoked turkey gumbo. The fish sandwich was delicious. It was fried to perfection. It was better than the ol skool Tiktock's fish sandwich back in the day.

If you have not gone yet, make it a point for lunch or dinner. Bring your co-workers for a lunch meeting.

Thank you for having us. ???

The service was OUTSTANDING, and the VIBE inside was definitely the VIBE. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the dishes they preferred. My husband ordered the gumbo and enjoyed it a lot. I got the Shrimp Po Boy, and it was ok. The sauce was tasty, and the bun was soft. They also have social gatherings next door that educate the community of various things, including GUMBO. Stop by and enjoy.

Vegetarian options: Vegan gumbo.

Parking: Some parking.

Kid-friendliness: Everyone is welcome.

Gumbo Social is a gem! The southern flavors are spot on, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The chef is fantastic, and the open house vibe makes it feel so cozy and inviting. Great energy, great food—definitely a must-visit

Second time at the actual Gumbo Social restaurant and the gumbo was fantastic again! It’s consistently amazing, whether you have it at the restaurant or a street fair! Best gumbo for certain. My party of four came at 6pm on a Thursday, found parking right in the front, and had a great dinner. Besides the chicken and sausage gumbo, I also had a shrimp po’boy (love the secret sauce and how generous they are with the grilled shrimp) and hoecakes (which have crispy edges!)!

I like that Mr. Gumbo chats with his customers, and that eco-friendly measures are in place! It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy some great food and company! They also have an extensive variety of hot sauces for you to use! This is a small business that I’m happy to support with my appetite and review. Thanks, Gumbo Social team!

They show up at many SF Farmer’s Markers, including the Outer Sunset one. They held an all you can eat gumbo event and it was great!
