We went to Hakka Restaurant. We should have just left given how dirty, dingy, empty, and depressive the place was and having the menu literally thrown at us. There was no heat especially for a cold rainy day. But we still gave it the benefit of doubt. We did not ask how much a dish of snow pea shoots would cost. Once the tab came, we were stunned to learn it was $26. This is same price as for a dish of seafood. The other order was half a chicken with ginger and cilantro. The serving size was so small. The serving size of this dish was more substantial and delicious at Ton Kiang (now retired after over 25 years), and the chicken was very lacking in cooking, appearance, and taste. Overall, the dining experience was terrible, never to return again. Based on this experience, their website showing images of their other dishes has a high possibility of not matching what you will get in reality in terms of appearance and taste.

If you love authentic Cantonese cuisine, this is the place to go. The oysters and clams were excellent. The fried pumpkin and fried pork ribs were both extremely delicious. The service was fast and friendly. Tables for large or small groups and a comfortable dining experience. Very reasonable prices on all the dishes.

We tried four dishes and they’re all pretty decent. Chicken and salted fish fried rice’s extraordinary. 梅菜扣肉’s bit too salty but 梅菜 tastes authentic.

Very local and good almost more home style food, it's small but nice and service is very personal. It can get crowded on weekends.

It's been a long time since I've eaten here and have forgotten about it until a recent invitation--it's out of the way in the Outer Richmond--off the beaten path. My recent visit was specifically to eat frog. I heard a rumor that San Francisco may ban the sale of frog and so I made it a point to come here and order a frog dish. We ordered the bitter melon frog and I was not disappointed. The bitter melon was perfect in the bitterness and the frog was sweet...the whole frog, not just the legs--the overall flavor of the dish was very balanced. We also ordered the mustard green and garlic stir and fried tofu clay pot. A the mustard green was tender and the tofu was also tasty. I came for lunch and it wasn't very crowded--got a neighborhood vibe. Service was good. Overall delicious food. Definitely worth checking out.

Food was good. Standouts were the beef and peppers, sweet and sour fish, stir-fried fish, and the stuffed tofu. Complementary desert at the end of the meal (a sweet rice soup). Service was good. Atmosphere was okay, except for the harsh lighting.

Had lunch, with most of the other tables occupied by multi generational Chinese families. The place has a warm, family run feel with a unique set of dishes on the menu. Looking forward to my next

We got to restaurant. The place was tight. Hardly can walk in between tables. In fact, the waiters and waitress had a hard time being out dishes to us because they can't walk in between all the tables and chairs. Watch out when you order Rice!!! We asked how much was a bowl of rice. The waiter said "since your ordered all these dishes, the rice is free. No cost". So we just asked for one bowl of rice. Eat the food which was subpar. Weird taste. Whatever. Chinese food at a not so nice Chinese restaurant. Bill comes and there was a charge for that one small bowl of rice. $2.50. We waited for the waiter that said it was free. He came back and we asked. He took the bill to the back and came back out and said. "I'm sorry, it's $2.50 for a bowl of rice. My bad!" Seriously? You said it was free, that's why we asked for only one bowl. If there was a charge, we wouldn't have asked for the rice. And how can you said it's "my bad" and still have the nerve to charge us. Clearly you don't care about "your bad". I'm leaving this ONE star review.... "My bad"

The food is good with reasonable prices. The service can be a little slow when the place is crowded like on the weekends.

It is quiet and you can have a peaceful dinner. The pan-fried noodle was great. Crispy noodle. Bok choy was even crunchy. The clay pot tofu with fish and mushroom was nice and full of tofu Yummy. The egg and corn soup came out super fast. Got the garlic egg plant. It had sour mustard veggie, which is unusual and different. We got complimentary tea.
