To me this is hands down the best kbbq + Korean restaurant in SF. I’ve tried wooden charcoal, brothers, muguboka, yakiniQ, I’ve tried them all nothing comes close to Han Il Kwan. The banchans are so fresh and taste so good. The Galbi is not too sweet not too fatty but fatty enough. Their cold noodle with beef is spectacular. Just everything about Han Il Kwan is so consistent and so enjoyable. It’s my repeat spot - the only reason I’d go somewhere else is because it’s closed Tuesday / Wednesday.

Solid KBBQ in SF run by Korean ladies. My recommendations:
- bulgogi
- galbi
- samgyeopsal
- kimchi jeon
We had a big group so called to make reservations. We ordered a lot of food and they gave us a soondubu jjigae on the house and ended the meal with sikhye. Good banchan, too. You'll leave with a full belly and smelling like meat!

Second time here, service and atmosphere were ok. What you would expect at your average Asian restaurant.
The food was great but the alcohol we ordered was expired for 4 months. We didn’t notice until half a bottle in and ended up with an upset stomach the next day. Sad because I like the bbq a lot, just don’t get the alcohol maybe

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Han Il Kwan. It's very busy, and will come with a wait, but it's absolutely worth it. It's best with a big group, as you can get a lot of variety that way.
The meats were all absolutely excellent, and the banchan was delicious. We also got the japchae which I loved. The service is also excellent despite them being very busy!
Hugely recommended, would for sure come back!

The best Korean food I had in the Bay Area. Great portion for the BBQ, every dish is so flavorful, I absolutely love everything including the free small dishes.
Just be aware it’s kind of hard to find parking in the residential area.

The rib was extremely dry absolutely no juice/sauce. Our friend asked for soy sauce to make it ediblea, was dry slices of beef. Looked nasty. The Kai bi was good was moist and boneless. The server wasn’t friendly and my partner just arrived she seemed to be rushed in taking our orders. Server never checked on us as we could’ve used more napkins and my friend had to stop an older lady for a glass of water. The egg soufflé was good but you need to ask to that at the beginning they won’t change it if you don’t. That supercedes the soup. They could improve their customer service by being more welcoming and friendly and checking on the customers. Will go to other Korean restaurants with better service and not having to deal with gross dry ribs.

Food was ok. Not sure why the grilled meat has to be so fatty. Loved the fermented tofu? paste. The spicy tofu soup was awesome. Next time, seafood pancake.
