My favorite local inexpensive dim sum spot. You can get delicious dumplings here for under $5 per order! The veggie spring rolls are also really good too

It’s called Happy Bakery but it’s mostly Dim Sum and food to go. I don’t eat much veggies but they have the best string bean chicken with tofu. This is a must-try! Dim Sum on the other side is also good with their Siopao & Sesame Balls. An order of combination over rice was only $6 but I guess inflation got in the way. Still worth coming for those string bean! 😋😋

No frills, good food. Amazing interactions with locals but a little standoffish with non locals but who cares. The food is elite.
All the dimsum is good and I advise you mix it up and just try everything once. Crispy, soft, chewy, sweet, savory, juicy. They have all the textures and flavors you want in dimsum and the opposing chinese ready to take hot food.
I especially love the salt and pepper shrimp and fried chicken wings. A little mis communication on amount/weight led me to spending more than I wanted but the dim sum is so inexpensive it balances out. Expect lines, waiting and for thing to potentially sell out. Patience is key.

This place has been here for decades, so I feel like they must have built up some good esteem with the community in all that time. You might even say it’s a hidden gem.
Dim sum at one counter, Chinese dishes served cafeteria style at the other.
Everything looks appetizing and tastes perfectly fine to me.
This is a good spot for grab and go snacks or a quick bite.

If you want dim sum fast this is the place to go. Stroll on up, order, and eat on the go. One side they serve dim sum and the other side you can order classic Chinese dishes. It is a cash only place.

Happy Bakery has many friendly people working there, and the dim sum and Chinese fast food are pretty good. The store has two sections. The section on the left is my favorite dim sum section. They have many different dim sum for the reasonable prices. The Chinese fast food section is more like Panda Express. You can see what you want, and they scoop it into the box. Both sides are quick and yummy!

Lots of excellent selection for take out. Favorites include chow mein, salt and pepper wings, and vegi options, which are consistently good.Option to pre-order for big orders available.

Even though the city as a whole has lost a lot of it's flavor, I am happy to make the trip down from Sonoma to share my favorite take-out Dim Sum with my wife. Having grown up in Sunset District during the start of the 2000s, it is encouraging to see that these establishments are still standing. I can only hope to share this food and dose of nostalgia with our soon-to-be-born daughter.See you soon, Happy Bakery!

I've been going here for decades and it's the only place I'll go for quality dim sum to go. They make a special type which my grandmother used to make and I've never found any other shop in this country or any other that carries it. Note... I've lived in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Beijing and Guangzhou... so I've been around and know good quality dim sum.The ladies there are helpful and speak enough English to get by. Just like what you'd find on the streets of Hong Kong. If you don't speak Chinese, don't worry.... just point and tell them how many orders you want. Cash only and the que can go out the door during busy times. On the other side, is a buffet of assorted ready made Chinese food to do. Great deal for 2 or 3 items plus noodles or rice dish. Just know what you're buying and like any buffet style heating systems, if the items have been under the lights too long... it can over cook and/or dry things out.Parking is usually not an issue, but it depends on when you go. I love that you can get in and out quickly even when I order $100-200 worth of dim sum for our family parties!
Standard dim sum with efficient service
2 items + rice $9.10 as of August 2023
It opens early in the morning. There is always a line.
It's delicious, but the service from the aunties there is not very good. It's like you owe them money. They have bad mouth and black noodles.
