I had a raging headache and I knew my only cure was the Spicy Chicken Sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. I am a new woman walking out of Hard Knox! I have had almost everything here and sometimes as left overs because the portions are huge! I love this place and I know you will too.

San Francisco has a lack of good Southern food. This is probably the best place in SF for Southern cuisine. The server we had today was outstanding. He was on top of everything & had a great eye for detail. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the country fried steak was probably the best I’ve had in California. Hush puppies were legit, the cornbread was on point. This is a jewel of a cafe.

Hard Knox Cafe is amazing! The service was amazing, the atmosphere was nice, giving down home vibes w/music just loud enough to talk and enjoy. We had the Cajun Shrimp Balls, Spicy Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish, Macaroni, Greens, Yams, Red Beans & Rice and Beignets. All food was good and portions were plenty. Our waitress was so kind, service infused with love!
