Got the bobo with a vegan dog and veganaise, mustard, mustard seeds and ketchup and it was so good! Next time I would likely add more condiments/veggies to balance out the bread as well. It’s a cute spot and love that you can substitute any hot dog for a vegan hot dog (just check that the other toppings are vegan).

Damn good hot dog, super fast, friendly service. Limited indoor seating but there's a parklet with outdoor tables as well. Perfect for when you're running late and just realized the venue you're going to doesn't serve food.

This place is great for a quick bite, plus it's close by and better than Costco dogs, a bit $$ more, but hey still better.

Hot dog heaven in the Hayes District! If you think the best hot dogs are stuck somewhere in Chicago or New York, I’m here to tell you they’ve got some competition — right here in San Francisco’s Hayes District. Hayz Dog is a tiny spot with a big personality, and I’d put their dogs up against any west of the Mississippi.
My personal go-to? The Bobo, dressed to impress with the usual crowd of condiments and my personal upgrades: perfect, meaty bacon (not thin bargain bin special or looking like it spent time in a microwave) and a punch of garlic. It’s a dog that shows up in style, strutting out on a bed of chips with a side of their special sauce. And yes — the $12–$15 price tag is a bargain for something this satisfying, especially when it’s ready in under five minutes.
The menu is refreshingly simple. You won’t need a degree in decision-making — just enough options to keep every type of hot dog fan happy - a tip of the hat to their internationally inspired flavors. And if you like to customize, the condiment upgrades are the real deal. They don’t skimp, they don’t miss, and they turn a good dog into a great one.
Inside, seating is cozy — we’re talking four people max — but that’s part of its charm. Outdoors, you’ve got more room via curbside seating, plus a TV usually playing soccer or a movie, so you can enjoy your meal with a little side entertainment. The staff keeps the vibe friendly and relaxed, greeting you with a warm “What can I get you, my friend?” that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time.
Drinks? They’ve got a short but solid lineup: a couple of beers, some wine, and sodas to wash it all down. Simple. Straightforward. Satisfying.
If you’re looking for a place where the food is fast, the prices are fair, and the hot dogs are unforgettable, Hayz Dog is your spot. Don’t just take my word for it — go grab a Bobo, add bacon and garlic, and taste why this little stand is serving up the real West Coast wiener wonder!

Hayz Dog does better Chicago dogs than Chicago and I say that as a longtime Chicago resident. Great staff, food selection and restrooms for customers.

Maybe I had too high an expectation for how good a hotdog can be? Kind of expected a nicely grilled bun and a hotdog with some charred lines 🥲 Still, it was good food though!
