Overall, it was a good meal, but for me, I don't think I'd go back because the chef has a pretty heavy touch with the sugar. And at some point in the dinner by the seventh dish, the flavor started to meld a little bit for me.
Food and service was amazing! There was a group of diners next to us who were drunk and loud so we couldn't hear descriptions of the food and drinks for each course. Too bad.
A beautiful experience in Japantown. Every dish was delicious, such fresh ingredients and interesting combinations. A true experience and we'll be back!
Tiny plates 8 or 11 plates, your choice. Thai influence menu and many dishes overly spicy. Had to skip a couple and still had heartburn all night long. Nice tables and chairs and service ware but the smell of fish hits you in the face as soon as you enter. Not a pleasant smell at all. Would not return.
I highly recommend you take advantage of their incredible lunch prix fix menu they have on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. An incredible value for what you get, and the food and service was fantastic.
Good presentation of food. Service is attentive. Overall a good experience. Only hold back, food is on the salty side, not one dish , most of the dishes.
Rare that food and service jockey to outdo one another. An exceptional experience all around. A true pleasure.
The food was really delicious, flavorful, and perfectly portioned and coursed out for lunch. And for SF it was insanely reasonably priced for 5 courses at $40. Our server Emilio was super friendly and attentive to our table's deitary needs as well. Very kind and sweet!

The food was interesting, unusual and well prepared. Flavors were well combined and lovely.
The food was delicious and very unique. Nice amount of spice without being overpowering. The service was outstanding, the waiter was very engaging and explained the dishes well. Highly recommend.

I had a very pleasant evening dining at Hed 11. Originally, I booked the bar seating so that I wouldn’t have to be locked into a tasting menu. However, the 8-course menu seemed like a great deal at ~$100 and had a variety of different options like seafood, lamb, and optional add-ons. The waitress, Viola, was extremely kind and asked the chef if we could switch our reservation to a tasting. They were very accommodating and did so quickly.
My favorite part of the entire tasting menu was the Andy Warhol inspired dessert. It was a frozen coconut banana ice cream on top of a crispy, buttery, and slightly salty crumble that just paired perfectly in your mouth. I also enjoyed the spicy lamb curry and refreshing hamachi salad starter as well. All of the ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were undoubtedly Thai, yet distinct in their own way.
I will say that some of the cocktails were better than the others. My favorite was the vanilla yuzu one, but I found that the pandan and gin cocktail was heavily spirit-forward and lacked any sort of pandan flavoring.
Overall, it was a wonderful evening through and through. The staff are attentive, the ambiance is inviting yet polished, and the food is great. I would gladly come back again to try the 11-course tasting in the future!

My second time there. Food was exquisite and service was warm, friendly and not meddling. Definitely will go back again.
Service started strong, but slowed significantly in the last half. The food was OK, but felt contrived and honestly not very Thai.
Second time trying this place for lunch. Just as good as the first time. Though the dishes are more on the finer dining side, it doesn’t compromise the Thai taste and palette. Being South East Asian sometimes my tension with modernizing homey dishes is that it at times compromises the bold flavors but this place didn’t do that at all. The price is a steal especially for a tasting menu in San Francisco and makes me want to come in for their dinner tasting menu. Plus I love that this place offers the equal dishes for the vegan option. Personally the portions are very generous. Restaurant does seem a bit slower but I’ve only been here during lunch hours. Writing this review so that this restaurant will stay and I can come back to try dinner.

I definitely recommend coming here for lunch! We came to celebrate a birthday, and in my reservation I made a note saying it was a birthday celebration. The indoor aesthetic is clean and wooden, and their pottery and plates matches that aesthetic. It is definitely a gorgeous interior which is cohesive with the menu and the overall aesthetic.
The lunch tasting menu is overall very filling and such a great price too! Just note that sparkling water costs $10, but it was good with way the meal. We also got a lychee mocktail, and that was yummy and light without being overpowering. I got the seafood tasting menu, and my boyfriend got the vegan tasting menu. My favorite part was the shrimp, which I mixed with the wild rice (great decision). In the vegan tasting menu, the best course was the first one, where they have some table side explanation of what the meal is and pour the coconut curry over the tofu and pineapple pieces. The dessert was also good, I was impressed by how flavorful they made the sorbet!
The waiter was so nice, and we even got a birthday Mango Sticky Rice inspired dessert!
I will definitely be coming back again and I also want to try hed very thai, also by one of the owners of hed 11
