Reviews were glowing and inspired me to try this place near my hotel. We got Mongolian beef and was overly salty and manager said they have been making this like this for 50 years . Amazing ! We couldnt even eat it ! They remade it but not the same . They also forgot to bring out our green beans ! Not sure if you want to try this place . Good luck

Had dumplings, beef, tofu, and chicken curry. Beef and tofu were excellent, dumplings were good, but the chicken curry was bland.

What a wonderful dinner we had and such a great ambiance! Absolutely delicious authentic Chinese food served perfectly. We had a buffet and each dish had it's own personal touch. The owner and staff are lovely and even though we were part of a party, the attention we got made it feel like we were there on our own. If you are looking for real Chinese food in San Francisco, this is the place to go! Will definitely return to Sohunan the next time we are in SF. BTW, the owner Ivan is also an architect and designed the restaurant!

Great tasting but TINY portions. We left hungry after ordering Mongolan Beef and Chow Mien with added chicken. Not sure where the dining room shown online is. The ground floor dining room feels like a food court.

When I'm anywhere else, outside of San Francisco, and someone says, "hey you wanna get Chinese?"...it's places like this that I'm thinking of. I can't for the life of me understand why no one can make good Chinese food except Chinese restaurants in this city.

The dumplings were delicious and the garlic chicken over steamed rice was excellent. The ambiance was basic, and the service was pretty formulaic. He literally just took my order and ran my card. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're rude, just not particularly welcoming or social. But then again, I came here specifically to get delicious Chinese food and that's what I got.

If you're looking for a cozy, delightful setting this isn't it, but if your priority is really good Chinese food then absolutely you're in the right place.

TLDR: pork was tasty but there was way more rice than pork and hot and sour soup was inedible

I ordered a lunch portion of the pork and honestly it looked half and half when I got the box but then I realized there was rice under the pork too so it was really like 3/4 white rice and 1/4 pork. The pork itself was tasty and spicy without being overwhelming.
The biggest drawback was the hot and sour soup. It was so salty that I took one sip and couldn’t drink anymore
