Headline: I found Jesus in the bar tonight and it was good.
No it was not some long haired patron but instead this awesome themed bar in San Francisco. This place had a nice chill vibe despite being crazy busy. We were still able to find some decent seats and bask in the glow of good old JC. The place almost had a hall in the wall vibe with the twinkle lights but still boasted an impressive selection of drinks.
Despite how busy it was, the staff was super friendly and bartenders were moving fast through the requests. Sometime at a bar you can feel ignored but it was not like that here. Cellphone signal is not great but they have wifi inside as well.

Stopped into Holy Water in San Francisco to meet a friend before dinner, and it was perfect. We grabbed seats at the bar and could easily catch up — not loud at all, just a relaxed neighborhood vibe. It definitely seems like a local favorite; as we were heading out, we passed at least four dogs, and a couple even had their own dog beds.
I didn’t check out the beer list (not even sure if they have one), but the draft selection had exactly what I was looking for. Great spot, great atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

This is my neighborhood bar, and I want to like it, but the acoustics are terrible. Just hang up some cloth on the walls already. Edit: or whatever works best for you to soften the din — I get migraines in here but I love the drinks and wish I could come in without getting a headache every time and shouting to hear friends x

A favorite always! I used to live in the neighborhood but will always come back and hang at Holy Water. They put so much thought into their cocktails, tap list, decor, menus, glassware — it’s just a whole moody vibe and they continue to get better as time goes on.
