Hong's Kitchen is like eating in SF in the 1980's. Not very romantic inside but the food can be excellent. If you take the time to order in advance there are many great dishes. Crab with rice cakes, Fried Chicken stuffed with sticky rice and Winter Mellon Soup (just to name a few). These are special and worth planning around. If you go in last minute there are some Cantonese dishes that are fine but not any better or worse than any other old school Chinese restaurant...
Visiting this place with friends familiar with Southern Chinese cuisine was very educational. A number of exotic entries were fresh and tasteful, with excellent flavorful sauces. Very friendly owners. The whole family loved the place.
They serve the type of official City Chinese Food you really be missing when you are stranded tragically in a land of uncivilized heathens where you can’t get any decent Chinese. They just don’t do it like this in the middle of nowhere.
