Hookt Doughnuts has been on my to-try list for a while, so I'm excited I finally had the chance to go visit this past weekend. They were open for takeout even during SF lockdown. Ordering was done non-contact through their website; there was a sign on the window and a QR code (which didn't work for me, but fortunately the URL was easy enough to type in). Ordered three different donuts. The best was the powdered sugar donut. The chocolate had an unusual after taste. Not sure if it was my taste buds or if there was something unusual in the chocolate.Would get all powdered sugar next time.
It’s a little sad that their quality changes depending who makes it? I guess? But the first time I tried these donuts I really liked them. This time I had the guava crunch and the cookie butter with oreo. The cookie butter with oreo was a little better than the guava one. The guava donut was okay, but I was disappointed at their frosting. It was a little runny, I personally like set frostings better.
