This is a hole in the wall type restaurant with old school Chinese service and food. For those that don’t know what that means don’t expect five star service and atmosphere. You aren’t paying high prices here at all. You come here for the food if it’s to your taste which it is for me. Beef roll pancakes and green beans are my favorites. Cash only.

I feel like House of Pancakes is a bit overhyped. I’ve both ordered takeout and dined in here, but there weren’t really any standout dishes. The food was fine, but I think there are tastier options in the neighborhood. Also, they are a cash-only business for dine-in. Just something to be aware of.

Consistently good food--hand pulled noodles, dumplings, beef rolls, green beans. Very friendly waitstaff.

Beef chow fun was made with a lot of oil and sesame oil. Definitely not soy sauce based. The beef texture cooked nicely, but the noodles/chow fun is less desirable compare to other beef chow fun.

Beef roll pancake (#10) tastes good despite serving them warm (instead of hot)

The owner of this place is very relaxed but provides asian speedy service. The noodle soup is really good and noodle texture is so great. And their pot sticker is not to miss. We are Buddhist monks and nuns so the owner kindly customized our food without garlic and onion as well with very smooth communication

When I entered I saw, across the tiny dinning room, a shaft of light and a man with a mound of dough standing in the kitchen. It was like looking back in time.

The food was back in time too, in the best possible way. I had the chicken pancake, hand pulled noodle stir fry, and dumplings. They were all great. Next time I have the opportunity I'll try something else.

If you know then the service, ambiance, and food are exactly what you want.

Little hole-in-the-wall place in the Sunset with absolutely amazing Chinese food! Do not miss the beef pancake (perfect mix of savory and sweet) or the garlic string beans! We ate so much we felt slightly sick afterwards, but it was SO worth it!
