Hyde Street Seafood House & Raw Bar

A San Francisco style neighborhood restaurant.  The owner greeted us and was gracious. We were late yet she was welcoming. She made sure we could get to our event on time. The food was delicious, and beautifully served. Our first time and we will definitely go back.

Service and food were excellent and price was fair. Banana bread pudding was delicious. Only concern was a lack of customers at 7 pm on a Saturday night.

A very pleasant surprise. Not busy on a Friday night. Great menu, I wanted to order everything. Quiet, which is important to me. A could actually have a normal conversation with my wife unlike the crazy packed restaurants everywhere else. And the food was not only excellent - I had the rainbow trout, the lobster bisque and a doz oysters, the portions were large, the fish was cooked perfectly and the lobster bisque was to die for. Service was friendly and immediate. Nothing to complain about, only to commend. The prices were shockingly low, at least compared to the upscale seafood places we commonly dine at. This is a real find.

A long time favorite that never disappoints! I have loved this neighborhood gem for years, and don't get back to it as much as I did when I could walk there. But whenever we get back, it's just wonderful. Still beautifully decorated, the staff is friendly and attentive, the food is delicious, and we could actually have a conversation without talking loudly. The oysters were like butter, the lobster bisque was flavorful and creamy, and the entrees were all tasty and plentiful. What a special Valentine's Day for our family - thank you!

I've lived on Russian Hill for over 30 years, and yet managed to completely miss the Hyde Street Seafood House and Raw Bar. No excuses, but deep regret. That oversight has now been corrected. Stopped by for the Oyster Happy Hour. Very glad I did. Looking forward to more visits and enjoying a full dinner in the future.

Had the seafood pasta. The sauce was lacking taste. The scallops and shrimp were very small and compared to the frozen bags one buys at Costco. Finally, the small chunks of salmon were extremely fishy in taste.
It was my Big Birthday dinner, and unfortunately it was not a very memorable birthday dinner.

Horrible food. Everyone knows. Because on a Saturday night only 3 tables had people. Do not go here. Fish not fresh.

Sophie saved the last bottle of the wine my husband liked for us! We appreciate the attentive service, the fresh oysters, and the wonderful vibe. It's our favorite spot in the neighborhood for a good time!

The fish en papillote is the basis for my food rating. It'd otherwise be just 3 stars. A bit understaffed but it's still reasonable.

My wife and I had dinner last night at Hyde Street Seafood and was amazed that we had not yet been to this gem of a restaurant even though we live in nearby PacHeights. It has a large selection of menu items including daily specials, the food was excellent and its one of the best value, high quality restaurants in the Russian Hill, Union Street, Polk Street or Fillmore Street areas. Can't wait to go back.

This place is a well kept secrets my husband and I I love the place. SOPHIA is such a wonderful hostess. We felt at home. The food is absolutely delicious. We are going to bring all our friends here. It is so reasonable And affordable . The neighborhood restaurants are very expensive. It is unfortunate that they are not doing doing that. Well they need to be promoted. The food was very high-quality. God bless them.
