I got the grilled chicken and the pork chops. Great food and service!

This place is awesome! The food is so good and Alex is the best at grilling the chicken perfectly! Our go-to always.

Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is kid friendly and the menu is something everyone loves. We also get food to go if we’re in a hurry. Either way is great.

Best chicken in the Mission, and very affordable price in comparison to other artisanal-grilled chicken places in the neighborhood. The owner and staff are very friendly. I recommend having their chicken with the home-made salsa. Another plus is that they have beer on-tap!

What a wonderful place not only to eat but to spend a marvelous time with your family and friends. A very delicatessen place to enjoy from the most traditional Mexican, American and Argentinian kitchen with a very stress free environment, excellent music and awesome service. I definitely recommend IL POLLAIO MISSON for your next social or familiar meetings to spend a wonderful time to remember.

No stars really. Absolutely horrible food and lousy service. We were the only ones there. Ordered rabbit from the chef as soon as we sat. Beer, wine and salads arrived. 40 minutes later still no entrees. When I asked I was told the rabbit takes 10 minutes. I told him we had been there 40. No response. Rabbit and chicken were overdone and tasteless. We sent them back. Chef only took the rabbit off the bill. $57.00 for a glass of wine, a beer and two salads. Don't waste your time and money.

Well aside from being accosted by the owner the steak was great. The service was slow to begin with however the Atmosphere was what I was looking, for completely empty. How come I can't get a glass of water when I'm the only person in the restaurant. I like I was with a friend whom couldn't get service. I had to ask three times for water sauce and oil and vinegar on a plate for bread. And when I did get sauce for my steak it came out completely watery therfore ruining my dinner by getting it completely soaked. I kindly brought it to the owners attention the best I can and he began to argue that I should have shaken the A1 bottle better and then asked what I wanted to do and said my steak has been ruined I'd like to have it recooked and then he began to grab the plate from my presence in such an aggressive manner that he spilled blood orange juice all over my friend whom was innocently sitting by trying to enjoy his burger but having the irate man reaching over him and also attempting to grab the burger out of his hands. He proceed to grab all the items from the table and began to tell and make a scene out our not wanting to pay which was entirely false I asked him to recook my wetssd steak. He told us to leave that we were not welcome that we only wanted to eat a free meal like some kind of hobo. He was slamming dishes and yelling at us to leave I said I'd like to have paid for a dinner that I could enjoy and eat however that was not happening. We left and in such the tiny space I wasn't able to leave the tumultuous scene without accidentally tripping into the table and heaccused us if wrecking the place . My partner and I agree this was a most unpleasant trip to the city we were treated poorly and that's an understatement never will I eat Italian without this memory. Don't eat at this restaurant or promote such behavior thank you

I went there for the first time yesterday after my great hairdresser, Dimitri, at Werk Salon a few doors down, recommended this place. It was so AMAZING that I am going back today!! The grilled chicken sandwich was the best I’ve EVER had in my life, made with fresh pesto sauce on one side of the toasted bread and the roasted tomatoes on the other side….OMG! I also got the combination salad….so fresh and DELICIOUS…esp the bean salad…I also got an order of roasted vegetables that were to die for! I swear I am going back today for another LARGE combination salad and a hamburger!! The owner and his wife are darling! Sweet and very friendly!

Absolutely loved the food, was such a solid portion for how much we paid (especially in SF!) My two friends and I got a combination salad, eggplant, lamb chops, whole chicken, and almond cake and paid a little over $30 a person. The owners Alejandro and his family were so nice and went above and beyond with their customer service. 100/10 would recommend again and I'll be back here a lot :)

Best kept secret in mission. Everything is amazing (and not very expensive.. also best eggplant I’ve ever had)… should have taken pics, but I ate it all before I could think.

Such a lovely and classic experience. Grilled eggplant, a half chicken with tart lemon, and bright bell peppers doused in olive oil. So delicious and a hidden gem in the heart of Mission.

Great grilled chicken, tender with a nice char, substantial fries, and fresh, crunchy salad. We went to Il Pollaio in North Beach for years, before moving to NYC. Back in SF on vacation, we wanted a quick bite in the Mission, and were delighted to find a second Il Pollaio on Mission near 24th. The ambience is casual but spotless, the owner is welcoming, the service is friendly and the food is tasty.
