This is the cafe I've been looking for since Starbucks turned into a waystation for the homeless, and Peet's seems to have taken on Starbucks's overflow. Illy is elegant, clean, quiet, and has GREAT coffee. The staff is very friendly, all the seats are comfy (they have *pillows*), and I love the natural light and the high ceilings. This is the only cafe I've been to in San Francisco that somehow manages to have a European vibe. Truly, it's like an oasis from the chaos outside...read full review
Great coffee, nice decor in a beautiful space, nice staff. There's no table service so, people, bus your own dishes. And staff, when you're not busy, would it kill you to make the rounds and clean up dirty dishes and discarded napkins?
