Service absolutely sucked. Severely understaffed, the bartender was making our drinks AND also making our sushi rolls AND waiting tables. WHAT?! 1 person is unable to do 3 jobs at once, and do them well. I would not go back. Next door to an abandoned gas station.

Dark sexy ambience, super chic bar top area perfect for small gathering. Huge dining area. Food presentation top-notched. Fresh sushi and rolls. Pretty cocktails. Fun, inviting owners and services. Local gem...Must try!

Been here several times, even before it rebranded into Dragon Horse, and honestly I have never been disappointed with their food and drinks! Probably the only place that serves chopped raw octopus with a wasabi dressing/sauce along with some wonton chips. it is both refreshing and flavourful~ Their pork belly skewers were so succulent that even my partner who doesn't like pork ended up ordering more. Unagi rice bowl was also very filling and tasty! But our favourite is definitely the salmon tataki. $20+ for 5 pieces might seem like a lot but trust me, once you take a bite, you immediately understand its worth. We didn't get cocktails this time but all the ones I've tried have been awesome. They do have an award winning mixologist after all :)

Always a great meal and a great time at Izakaya Hon Although ..... a little birdie told me that they just changed owners, and they are going to be switching it up, but it will be very similar. I'm very excited to see the changes. Met the great new bartender Ross, he really knows how to make a great drink and keep you entertained.

It's a total disappointment! The menu showed several sushi offerings and the photos featured a vast variety of sushi nigriri and rolls. It turned out that they no longer served sushi!! They should change the menu and delete the sushi photos. It's extremely misleading that customers thought it's a sushi eatery!!! Would never go there again!!

They changed their menu recently and got rid of the majority of their menu which included all sushi, cold dishes and most of the beverage menu. They should really update their website and give notice to patrons. We were really looking forward to the cocktails and good sake. The hot food that they did serve was good. We had karage, panko shrimp, kama, tounge and beef skewers and agadashi tofu. But the 1 house cold sake they offer was terrible.

The drinks were overpriced and not worth it. There are so many Izakayas where the food is far more outstanding for much less cost. I am willing to pay a lot of food and drinks are good. NOT kid friendly at all. Wished we would have gone somewhere else because the kids were with us. Other restaurants, that are much fancier, have been far more accommodating to our kids who are generally well behaved and eat all the things (don't order off a kids menu). I won't be back here again.

Menu looked amazing but the food was not great. Kinda tasteless overall. They forgot many dishes. Spacing of the food was poor. Very disappointed. There were ants on the table. Overall not a great experience.

El servicio no fue tan bueno, tardaron mucho en traer la comida, olvidaron darnos agua y tardaron otravez demasiado en el postre. El lugar muy limpio y lindo, la comida bien también

Really tasty food and cocktails. Ordered a whole bunch of stuff for a group dinner and appreciated that they were able to make some dish proportions fit our group. Chill ambiance with good service.

Izakaya Hon was a wonderful experience for our pre-show dinner and drinks. The atmosphere was lovely and the food quality was great. It was surprisingly affordable given our initial expectations. I will definitely go back soon.

Food portions are really small and is quite expensive for the portion. The cold food options were really good but the grill izakaya was not the most unique thing to try. Didn't stand out much from other izakaya in the bay area. However, the Cauliflower tempura was really

Great staff and ambiance! Solid and standard Izakaya food, albeit on the pricy side. My personal highlight was the Okonomiyaki cocktail.

The food was spectacular. We did the Omakase dinner which was delicious and shockingly filling! Our waiter and the host were lovely. We had the private room and they really took their time to make sure we were ok and happy with the food and the service. We went to celebrate my fiancé's birthday, and it was the best! Delicious food, hospitality and fast service. Thank you Izakaya Hon!

Food was generally quite good and a nice combination of sushi/izakaya, but had to wait 10min to order drinks, then again to order food and throughout the night. If I am dropping $100/head I don't expect to wear out my Elbe trying to waive down servers.
