A little disappointed as I had dined at the San Carlos location many times and the food has always been good at that location. The SF location was meh. Some notes: Prawn Cocktail – GINORMOUS. Comes in threes and you only need one per person. Pork Chop – This one was really good. Broccoli di Ciccio – Good Brussel Sprouts – OK; preferred a crispy texture. These were like steamed. Fries – Good but an order comes with like 6-8. Chicken Piccata – Disappointing; didn’t look like a chicken piccata (see other photos), was not much sauce and bland. Wedge Salad – Good but found a hair so they replaced it with another. Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad – Good Prime Rib – So disappointing. All that BBQ sauce….ugh…. Desserts – The cake was soooo dense we sent it back. The bread pudding was good. Overall, not the worst but for what we spent, food should’ve been a 4 out of 5. I would give the food 2.5-3 out of 5. Oh, cocktails are really good. Corkage is $50 which is steep; we should’ve just stuck to the cocktails The saving grave was our server, Debbie. She was AWESOME. Never questioned or blinked an eye when we sent a couple of dishes back. In fact, we sat next to a SUPER LOUD table of girls, and she apologized profusely for the noise. Although I gave an average review, I would definitely go back and try some other things. The cocktails were good and the ambiance is nice. Debbie also added to the star rating.
Our first time visiting Izzy's in San Francisco. The decor was old style beautiful, deep dark wood paneling with artful wall paintings, tribute to "Izzy" and reminiscent of a classic martini flowing, steak house in NY. Wonderful starters, perfectly portioned, Oysters Rockefeller, Wedge Salad well dressed with a balance of blue cheese dressing, bacon, sun dried tomatoes, and crispy onions, one of the best wedge salads I've had. House salad w/ Calamansi vinaigrette had a surprising mix of lettuces, hearts of palm. Satisfying entrees, perfectly, simple grilled Berkshire pork chops, medium-rare, very meaty and juicy with a great sear, bone-in. The Beouf Bourguignon had a very savory dark sauce, not too thin nor too thick, with the right amount of vegetables. The signature sides of creamed spinach and roasted mushrooms were the perfect complements to the chops. For dessert, Butterscotch Cream Pot w/ Pecans was a bit dense, but the Chantilly cream added some light sweetness. The service was attentive without being smothering or intrusive during our meal. We had an early reservation, so the pace was relaxed, but did get a bit hectic as the dinner crowd grew by 7pm.
Great place to celebrate! Our 1st time there to celebrate a birthday & they all made us feel special! Highly recommend this place-great food too!
Hurried Service, ran out of bread and also the price absolutely not compared to Service and quality, business dinner
Food is good here. unfortunately I can’t say the same for the service, sever was not attentive.
Came for a birthday, when the server finally came with a dessert menu we just wanted the check we had been waiting so long. Honestly nothing WOW here you’re probably better off going to bobo’s down the street
I have been coming here for almost 40 years. It was a no-brainer when I was asked, where did I wanna go for my 75th birthday dinner. The ambience is number one in the city. The food drink and service were exemplary. Arianna ,the general manager treated us like royalty as they do with all of their customers: Our waiter was excellent. We loved the food and drink. It’s my best birthday dinner In years. Please check out one of San Francisco’s premier restaurants. It’s a beautiful experience you will not forget .Hats off to all there to use an old phrase. Thank you Izzy's.

This place is very old school, a classic menu of steaks and that things that go with them. A big bar and lots of people sitting at the bar having fun. The food quality was very good, we had good dinners. The sound level was deafening so be prepared to not have an easy time chatting. And the prices were extremely high. A very expensive evening.
This has been one of my favorites for many years... Looking good after the remodel and always delicious.
Fantastic communication and patience with addressing all needs and terrific artisan work. Hard working crew that never waived until every part of project was completed with zero delays.

Wonderful staff that really want to make your experience great. They went out of their way to set up our private room event to suit our unique request, and did so with grace and a big smile.

Best meal I’ve had in SF. (I am a tourist)
Bone marrow 10/10 prime rib 10/10 the creamy spinach and potatoes also 10/10. No joke. I got surprised by the two sides! The bartender/ waiter is very professional and friendly. Price is very reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy. Honestly 10/10 experience here.

The rest of my party enjoyed steaks. All were enjoyed however, I wanted to focus on my selection so the kitchen could discuss improvement.
I ordered the prime rib ravioli. It came with the steaks however, in cutting into one ravioli, I discovered my entire plate of food, including the separate portion of skinny fries was tepid in heat. It is clear my dish sat there waiting for the steaks. Also……there was only 5 raviolis. I had selection envy as everyone enjoyed a generous portion. So, in advising my plate of food was not hot, they apologized and took it away. About 15 minutes later, while sitting there waiting without the fries, or a fork for that plate returned. The fries were better…but not hot, and the ravioli that I sent back, reappeared just as I sent it. It was not a fresh meal. I could tell because the 1/2 ravioli was sat there with nuked cheese congealing over top. Given we spent over $500 for our evening, my 5 microwaved ravioli was less than satisfactory. I was with friends, so didn’t want to make a big issue as they all enjoyed theirs but it would be sufficient of a negative experience for me not to return.
