Jackson Fillmore Trattoria

We finally made it to this neighborhood favorite and, well.... It did not live up to the hype. A culmination of annoying gaffes made me sorry that I had come. When I make the reservation, I requested a quiet table due to hearing loss, and that the occasion was for a birthday. Clearly the host hadn't bothered to read the note. We arrived at 6PM and were seated promptly at counter seats closest to the kitchen--not much of a quiet or birthday appropriate spot. I reminded the host of the specifications and he stated that a large group coming in and they weren't available. Clearly he made it clear that we were not a priority. But his claim wasn't true. Not long after being seated, several couples walking in were brought to tables for four. There was no large group, unless six people are considered large. We then moved several seats toward the center. We enjoyed a view of the garbage can, cash register, a jumble of employee belongings, cleaning supplies. Our starter and entrees arrived quickly. But the parmesan cheese arrived half way into the entrees. We had to ask for a refill on our water. We were not offered bread, when we did we were provided very stiff toast that somehow couldn't absorb the sauce for our meals. All this left me seething. I'll never return.

40 years and this is my first time! I can't believe I waited this long but it is a very nice place and the neighborhood is very lucky to have them!

As always, a fabulous experience at this gem Italian restaurant! Fabulous food and wine and wonderful ambiance and service. Jack, the owner makes everyone feel welcomed!

Love this little gem of an Italian neighborhood restaurant! The food never disappoints. Despite the late hour of our reservation this time, the service was with a smile and no sense of rushing us.

Food was oily and unseasoned completely. Was about as disappointing a meal as you could expect. Nothing tasted even decent without adding some seasoning. The restaurant also has terrible ventilation. Even on a cold night like this, it was so warm sitting just near the door. This place has the worst Italian food I've ever had, but they certainly don't hold back on charging you. Wouldn't ever recommend, or I'd only bring an enemy here.

The food was extremely over priced and very small portions. The music did not fit the establishment and interfered with enjoying the dining experience. Been here many times but this was the last time! Not what it used to be!

This is an SF gem. Definitely some of the best Italian I've found. 🫶🏼💖💝💯 Perfect for date night.

The food is always good but what keeps us coming back is the service. The employees are always friendly even though they are working in such a tight space with a full dining room. I have never been there without every table being full. I hope you know how lucky you are to have such amazing wait staff and kitchen crew!

The bombalotti has always been to die for. That combined with superior customer service and a real Italian family feel - Jackson Trat is a must visit on Fillmore St.

Always have a great meal at Jackson Fillmore. I love the zucchini carpaccio and have several favorites including the Bombolotti and Chicken Noci. The staff are great too. A real gem in the neighborhood!

Chianti I ordered had turned and was woefully past serving... unfortunately I consumed some and have had an unhappy G.I. truck since then

We really enjoyed our meals and the wine. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Been frequening the place for 29 years and always walk away happy.

Great neighborhood restaurant. The tortellini was fantastic, good wine recommendation from the waiter, cozy, surprisingly inexpensive. Will definitely keep going back.
