Been my go to Chinese place for a long time. Good food, big portions, and cheap prices.

Nothing to rave or crave about. But we'd go again. Certainly it isn't awful... try it. It's good. It's just not much better than average. If you are in the area it may seem busy but if you look around you'll also notice lots of other places have lines out the door. This place didn't have a line on the day we visited and we'd probably go back to try something different. It's standard Chinese/American with slightly smaller portion sizes. Ymmv.

This restaurant has been my go-to for so long! They have amazing food and soups. I got the hot and sour soup and it was amazing, all though it was very hot (spicy). There noddles are to die for. I live in the area and my family always orders from here when we are craving Chinese. This restaurant is amazing!!!!

Sometimes, hard to find gems will be right in front of you!! I had forgotten about JGarden which I had visited many years ago and I remember it was a good restaurant but I hadn't been back in a long time and it's in an expensive part of the city where you could be paying $30 for bad service and stale yucky tasting burritos (ahem, la playa taqueria, cough!!) Wanting a light affordable lunch nearby, I revisited JGarden again. Their service was helpful & prompt. There was lots of space with many tables & chairs for groups as well as individuals and they even have group menus. For weekday lunch (I came 1pm-2pm), theres LOTS of space so that's one of the best times to go. Their menu for lunch had the $7 lunch plate(specified list of entrées + steamed rice) or the $8.50 combo(soup, appetizer, specified list of entrées + steamed rice or fried rice). I personally think the combo is a better meal with more variety, and the kind of lunch that reminds me of the past way of eating at a chinese restaurant, one item at a time to help your appetite before serving you the entree. They serve you a hot pot of tea in the beginning. I got the combo. The small mini soup had 2 big wantons and a tasty not too salty soup. The appetizer was a large egg roll that was hot and well-cooked with a small bowl of sweet & sour sauce. The string bean + beef with fried rice was well cooked and tasty. I loved my lunch there and yes, I'm frugal but not a cheapskate, so I left a $5 cash tip!! You ALWAYS want to reward people who serve you & your tummy well!!:-)

Orange chicken was pretty decent. Would put the food in the middle of the pack, not that great but not bad either.

Really good. Nice lady gave me my takeout order, it was all ready to go when I got there. Potstickers were great - good flavor. Green onion pancake was good, too, but not as good as the potstickers in my opinion. Overall, this is a thumbs-up - a simple and good Chinese place. I'll definitely order from here again. Great option for quick takeout.

The food is decent here. Came here one night without reservation and had party of 12 peeps. Got seated right away cause restaurant was almost empty. The food is priced good here and bill came out to around 170 for 12 which is very good. Food quality is ok, some dishes didnt taste like what we ordered like honey walnut shrimp. Tasted more like salty fried shrimp. Maybe chef forgot the honey lmao

A great little place in Richmond - you get tons of food for the price, at least at lunchtime. I ordered the bitter melon with beef, and the beef was incredible, the bitter melon done perfectly. It came with a soup that was delicious! Nice place and super great value!

Great and authentic Chinese food in a quieter section of Balboa. It's traditional Chinese food from a small province in southern China known for their food. You can get amazing deals here, especially for lunch. When I was there, they had 3 full entrees with soup for only $21.95, which was more than enough to fill my party of 3. I recommend the egg and clam omelette, a kind of savory egg bake that had a ton of flavor. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely be back.

I have lived in San Francisco for many years, and this was undoubtedly the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Soggy, tasteless, watery braised tofu. Overly fried, greasy, and tasteless egg rolls. The waitress was very new, and did not even know what an egg roll was, this was definitely a first. I thought I was in for a strange meal after she took the order, but it was worse that I imagined. They seem to make their money at lunchtime from the school kids who come in for some kind of buffet lunch. I should have taken then hint that nobody was in there aside from the kids at lunchtime.

This is an awesome Chinese restaurant, with tasty dishes. I've had the xiao long bao and it was soupy and delicious. The salted egg with minced pork is really good. It's not overly salty or fatty and just right. It goes great with white rice.
