First time to try this bakery because of the reviews. We got the Asia Chicken Salad, chocolate croissant and vanilla sprinkle cookies. They were all ok, nothing to rave about. The dressing of the salad was good. If you want a quick breakfast, this place is ok. Prices are on the expensive though (spent about $33 for just 3 items).

We were not able to try their beverages because we brought our own. Maybe next time we can try their coffee.

Favorite bakery in SF and that's saying something. Love the sandwiches, pastries, and especially the fig & walnut bread, 🥖 so delicious!

Jane The Bakery on Geary is an absolute gem and easily one of the best bakeries in SF.

The bread is next-level—perfectly crusty on the outside, soft and flavorful inside. Their sourdough and multigrain loaves are staples, and they consistently nail both taste and texture. You can tell everything is made with care and serious skill.

But it’s not just about the bread—the pastries and sweets are incredible too. The morning bun is a must-try (crispy, flaky, just the right amount of sweetness), and their croissants rival anything you’d find in Paris. They also offer some great gluten-free and healthier options that don’t sacrifice flavor.

The savory items—like the sandwiches and focaccia—are equally worth the hype. Everything is super fresh, and the ingredients feel thoughtfully chosen.

The space is clean and efficient, and the staff is friendly and fast, even when there’s a line (and yes, there's often a line—but it's worth the wait).

If you love artisan baking and high-quality ingredients, Jane The Bakery is a must-visit. Truly 5-star worthy every time.

Hard pass on this place. I was overcharged for a coffee from a cashier ( my fault for not noticing till I left) but despite a hard rule and signage of no dogs, I've been chastised about having my dog outside the door on a leash while any white woman Marina Mommy can waltz in and not be told anything?

Thanks for policing all the black and brown folks!

Options were limited and they got a drink order wrong and wouldn’t correct it when asked and just shrugged.

The store manager, James I believe, is the best coffee maker in the city! Try the banana bread or lemon bread, not too sweet and just right.

A great and real bakery. Fresh pastries always win. The place is crowded, partly because they open well before 10am, the time other nearby choice unlock their doors. But the staff have a good system in place, and the customer queue moves quit quickly.

One recommendation coming from a type-1 diabetic, hopefully Jane can offer more choices not drenched in icing or sugar. For instance, I would have picked the cinnamon roll had it just been without the white icing. I bought the rolled fruit bun instead, but it too was sprinkled with sugar. Just having these items without the sugar saturation would be great. Maybe when placing in the oven, or after taking out, Jane can cover only 2/3rd of the rolls with the added glocuse and see how the plainer ones sell. 🙏

Tried this place based on the high ratings but so disappointing. The pastry for he apple was thick and soggy, and the seasonal flan was terrible! Over baked all the way through! And it was a recommendation by the server too!
The only positive was the availability of outside seating for dogs.

They have the best French bread in San Francisco. Try their baguettes. Parking can be a bit tricky.

If you’re looking for some wonderful & different bakery items, PLEASE try Jane the Bakery! They have a small parking lot, and there are lines to wait in, but worth it! For those folks that are GF, some nice items here too! Tough to make up your mind, so just try whatever you want the first time & decide what you don’t want on your second trip-lol! You won’t be disappointed! Cheers to good baking👏🏻
