Cosy, intimate space where each chef serves only 4 guests. The sushi is top notch, with fish flown in daily from Japan. Our go-to for special occasions.Vegetarian options: There is no vegetarian menu.Kid-friendliness: Not for kids.

Words cannot describe how amazing it is to eat here! The price is well worth it. They prepare the sushi in front of you and tell you the story behind every fish!Every single sushi piece was delicious.

Ju Ni in San Francisco is an exceptional dining experience that deserves no less than five stars. Specializing in Japanese cuisine, the restaurant offers an intimate and meticulously crafted menu that showcases the finest ingredients and culinary skills. Holding two Michelin stars for two years is a testament to its consistent quality and innovation. The chef at Ju Ni is not only professional but also engaging and interesting, adding a unique touch to the dining experience. This place is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unparalleled sushi experience in San FranciscoP.S. I believe the dinner menu starts around 200 per person. Adding drink and some other items, it’s around 300$ per person.

Have not been here in 6+ years and as one of my first omakase experiences it always held a very special place in my heart- that is until this past weekend. The atmosphere is no longer the ethereal omakase but a loud bustling bar (which is fine) but it's definitely lost it's allure. What I took more issue with was the aggressive cost cutting that has taken place. Gone is the unagi with gold, gone is the tamago included at the end of the meal, GONE is the uni. Literally I think this is the only omakase I have ever been to that does not have uni included in the tasting menu. I did see them unpacking some uni covered in liquid (not in a box) for people who wanted to pay the $22 dollar price tag for a bite. Given we had just been to japan this same box of uni was the cheapest price and at one point given to us as part of a meal at a casual food court style restaurant. Everything was good, but for a $750 price tag for two I was supremely underwhelmed. I was so excited to come back after receiving a gift card here - but unfortunately it will be our last visit.

We went to ju-ni for our last dinner in SF (6/27/23). Our son wanted to take us to a truly special restaurant - and he succeeded in spectacular fashion.Reservations are absolutely required and you could walk past the place if you are not paying attention. ju-ni only seats 16 patrons and we were lucky enough to have Brian as our chef. He was extremely personable and complimentary of the fact that we engaged with him as he prepared our meal. Watching him wield his extremely sharp knife as he prepared our various offerings was a pleasure to watch. Our son considers this the best omakase in SF and I will have to take his word for it. This was our first experience, however, and hopefully not our last.Everything is fresh, most of it, if not all, from Japan. Watching our meal being prepared and laid out was an education and the ultimate preparation and serving was perfect. I wish I could remember more about the specific items we had, but they were all delicious. The Wagyu beef was a treat as well - just watching our chef cook it with a torch, while holding it in his bare hand, was a show stopper.Full disclosure, but the bottle of sake' just added to the overall experience.
