I hadn’t been to Crocker Galleria in a very long time. I wandered upstairs and spotted Julie's Kitchen and I am so glad I did. I was able to get a high protein lunch with healthy vegetables for about $15. So good. I will be back.

Lunch at Julie's has become a ritual now. I am there at least 1-2 times per week. What a great selection of food that you can have fairly quickly. Got addicted to the Japache noodles from here. I think about them in weekend and then Monday afternoon here I am with a plate full of them.

There are fewer choices for lunch in the Market and Montgomery Street area. But, if you like buffet style lunches weighed by the pound, check out Julie's. It is at the top of the Galleria shopping center. There is a lot to choose from, including Greek salad, silver noodles, different kinds of chicken and more. You can mix up whatever you want. They also have set meals, mostly focusing on Asian cuisine. It's pleasant to sit at one of the tables at the top of the mall with natural light coming in from above. You can also take your meal out to the rooftop garden on nice days.

This is a steam table style restaurant with a wide variety of options, from Mediterranean salad to Korean fried chicken wings. It’s a nice spot to go when you’re not craving anything specific and just want a little bit of this and that. Before the pandemic, there were a few places like this in the FiDi, but most have closed down. I think this might be the last one still standing in the area.

They charge by pound, so be very careful not to eat with your eyes. At $10.95 per pound, I was able to get a decent amount of food.

To be honest, I had stopped coming here for a while because I find the cashier, who I believe is also the owner, to be less than welcoming, and very stingy (she asked me to put my wasabi and soy sauce packet on top of my box so i can get them weighted in). But now that I use Yelp as my food journal, I decided to give it another try and document my experience.

The food overall is decent. The Korean fried chicken wings are super fresh, nicely crisped, and well seasoned. The japchae (Korean glass noodles) is flavorful and satisfying. The Mediterranean salad is refreshing and light. The sushi, while not outstanding, is decent for this kind of spot. The only real miss for me was the seaweed salad, which tasted like it came straight from a box.

Here’s how I’d rate what I tried:
Mediterranean salad: 4 out of 5
Japchae: 5 out of 5
Fried chicken wings: 5 out of 5
Seaweed salad: 1 out of 5
California roll: 4 out of 5
Service: 1 out of 5

In conclusion, I recommend to come for the variety and convenience (and the chicken wings), but do not expect a warm welcome.

Really nice food. Good quality. The place is clean and well organized. The staffs are nice and welcoming. It's a bit more expensive than I expected. Had one plate filled up costs around 19. Teriyaki salmon is not quite as in the picture. Was supposed to get some tuna poke but instead got avocado shrimp

Food so fresh. Can’t imagine with the price I’m able to find another place with this deliciousness in the city. 100% my go-to for workday lunches??.

For your ratio of money spent to fresh, delicious, diverse food received, there is no better deal in the whole city.

Love their buffet style service! The place is a You-Choose-What-You-Eat and pay by pound restaurant. They have great selection of both vegetarian and meat options. I also saw sushi and spring rolls, which both are my favorite.

They also have the options to choose from their bento boxes if you don’t know what to get.

Will definitely come back to support!

Vegetarian options: You can go full vegetarian as your choice.

Wheelchair accessibility: They have elevators in the building.

It is like finding an oasis in the desert. 90% of the shops in Crocker Galleria are closed. Julie's Kitchen is a familiar brand. I remember eating at their Fremont St. location, in the alley, back in the early 2000's. The selection has diminished. There's no more tri-tip steak or salmon. Now it is tilapia. I would have preferred at least salty grilled mackerel instead. $11 a pound is cool for the selection. Nothing stood out as great. I wanted some tempura but they only had deep fried sushi. At least they had fried chicken. That was OK. Service is pay by the pound. On the bright side, there are plenty of seats now, not like before the pandemic.

Typical quantity over quality Asian buffet. Would love to see the owners remove redundant dishes and reduce variety in exchange for improving the quality and freshness. It all just tastes like bland protein with syrup glaze that's been sitting under heat lamps all afternoon.
