Last day of operation. Haven't been here in years. Customer service is excellent, very attentive and thoughtful of customers. It's a little chaotic but also well run. I have to wait to enjoy my order at home with family but pretty sure it's four stars and up. Farewell and thank you!

Kid-friendliness: Open space for family seating. Can fit strollers easily.

Wheelchair accessibility: Looks like enough for wheelchair to maneuver.

Since moving to SF this has been one of my favorite places to eat. Sad to see that they are closing their doors but hopefully we'll see them again real soon. ?

TLDR: tasty food though a bit pricier but well worthThey’re actually closing tomorrow for good 12.21.23!? We got in a meal here before they close for good and it was great! The beef was plentiful and the soft boiled egg was basically a soft poached egg. The broth was just right with flavor but not too heavy. The tonkotsu broth was also flavorful and they give you three pieces of chasu and half fat/half skinny which gives good texture. The sweet egg tamago tempura is also amazing, we had to get a second one!

Great udon, comparable to Udon Mugizo or Marugume Udon. Definitely add a stick of karaage to your order!

Always the best food and the best atmosphere! Best Island Style breakfast in town! You have to get the Loco Moco! You gotta get there between 9am and 1045am for breakfast but well worth it! Lunch is also great with curry, katsu, and a great beef rice bowl! Take any transportation to Van Ness and Market and you are steps away!

Service is friendly and I had a good experience there. However, I’d say the udon is run of the mill. Noodles were undercooked and the dashi was a bit dilute. It would also be awesome if they kept the green onions and friend tempura bits out for us to add to our own liking (also would ensure the tempura bits are still crunchy by the time we eat them).

I tried lot of their dishes. My favorite is the Curry Udon with Chicken, lot of delicious chicken for the price. I did not like their Spam Musubi - too much rice and flavorless. I did not like lot of their entrees but I think this is more of personal tastes rather than bad food. The Black Bean Noodles is very soupy and sweet compared to traditional Korean ones.

This Market Street counter-serve udon cafeteria gets a lot of things right. Authentic Japanese taste, quick service, spacious interior.Whether you’ll come back largely depends on personal palette preference — the very sweet tofu skin a bit of a turnoff in the Kitsune Udon, for example. The minimalist nature of Japanese cooking leaves little room for rectifying if one flavor is not to one’s liking. Well-priced fried accompaniments, yum. Chicken karaage though, a little dry.

Just moved to SF from Honolulu. Was excited to try this place as had decent reviews. I got the tan tan udon. The ground beef was very western flavored- even in the broth. I can’t justify $20 for a bowl of udon. Wasn’t bad but overpriced for flavor/ experience

Alright if in the area for a bowl of Udon. Their topping selection is far more limited that it used to be and the prices are way up. Prefer Mugizo in Japantown or the other Udon chain.

Kagawa-Ya udon is easy to get to. It’s a few steps away from the Van Ness Outbound Bart/muni station. Parking may be difficult if you choose to drive, so I recommend taking public transportation.Anyway, the restaurant is very clean and completely staffed. There are also plenty of seats and tables available. We went here around 6pm for dinner.I got the tonkatsu udon (#6) and my husband got the creamy veggie paitan udon (#13). Aside from that, we got the spicy gochujang popcorn chicken and the free veggie croquette using the yelp check-in. The broths of both soup tasted great. The noodles were done right - soft, chewy, and fresh. We liked everything we got, but just thought it’s a bit pricey compared to Marugame udon. But it’s okay, the food is worth it anyway.
