This is a great neighborhood bar. The service is above par. I didn't get a chance to try their food but will definitely be back to give it a go. The pool table is straight and rolls true. Cloth is clean and the cues are straight

Ducked in here yesterday after a concert at Stern Grove. Wife opened a tab but never got her card back. The bartender that opened her tab left right after we got our drinks and the new bartender that came on was getting annoyed with her asking to check and see where her card was, claimed it wasn't there, we gotten it back, and so on.
When we got home, she checked on her card and, sure enough, someone had been racking up all kinds of charges from the bar. Now we have to cancel and replace the card, dispute a bunch of charges and all that. But was pretty lame to have the bartender be so short with us and then find out that the card was indeed still there and getting abused.
The fernet and beer were good though.

Really cute and quite a spacious bar! They have a comprehensive bar stock. I really liked the vibe of the place! The back of the bar has pool table. It doesn’t feel like a shabby dive bar. Though the music is just insanely loud.

Karl’s Beacon is my new favorite bar. There’s not many places in the Sunset where you feel welcomed right away. The bartenders were amazing and moved very fast. Shannon was so damn cool and friendly!

Avoid Selfish bartender that only cares about her tip. I was completely ignored until I was given the buns rush out so I didn't tip . And was cussed out when I left. If you are going to only take care of regulars and spread neighborhood gossip you can't go cuss out a patron on a single beer.

Before Karl’s, this spot was called Dragon Lounge. Dragon Lounge was so freaking creepy, you always had a weird vibe at this bar. And now after Karl’s, it’s a total 180. Bad vibes are gone, this place is the local watering hole
