Food was good. Service was bad. I was one of the 3 people in the place and the lady was pretty rude. It was like she didn’t have time for me, never really look me in the eyes, and was just very hasty overall. Not gonna lie, it really ruined my lunch because I felt like I was doing something wrong the entire time.

This place moved to San Jose and didn’t update their page that they’re closed. I’ll send another 1 star down to that new location so we can learn about keeping our pages updated.

Had a quick meal with my son the other night!Small place, but similar size in Tokyo were we just spent two weeks prior to arriving in SF!Noodles and broth was decent, the slices of pork wasn’t up to par!We were planning to go to Mensho Tokyo of SF but there was line and we didn’t want to wait!Prices was reasonable.Pepper & Morris

It was fabulous!!! The line up outside spoke volumes too is. We are seasoned travellers and always eat where the people are! They nailed the Ramen soup and everything else!

Superb ramen, delicious broth. The two ladies working there were very nice. I also recommend the draft Sapporo beer.

Our family came here right before the Harry Potter show at the Curran. The food was delicious! Portions were solid. Tan Tan ramen is highly recommended amongst the ramen choices. You won't be disappointed. The chicken tonkatsu bento was overflowing with chicken. Yum!

I love this place more for nostalgic reasons. My sister & I used to live up the street a few blocks and would come by here after those cold, long days at school/work just for the combo meals (do they still have the wheel on the menus where you'd choose a noodle soup, a side and sushi? Lol). I'd even swing by in the afternoon on my way home for a sake donburi (salmon sashimi over rice). We also loved taking people here who were visiting us, so that they could share the experience of cramping together around a tiny table with little room to get up or walk around. You know, New York style haha! I'm not sure if they've been open these recent months but the times I've driven by when it's cold out, I'll still see a small crowd waiting outside to get in.

This is my go to ramen & sushi spot after a long day at work. Never fails me. Lovely ramen broth. Lovely sushi. If you haven’t tried it it is a must try in the downtown sf area.

Katana Ya was very good hand-rolled sushi restaurant that has warm rice served right out of the rice cooker. The portions could be a little bigger and in the cone shape but they are all pretty much rolled the same. I also would prefer a better choice of green tea with an authentic flavor. Instead of the usual Lipton tea bag. Service was all on point from the time you stepped in the door to the time you left. I love service!! I will say there is a long line waiting period tho

Great and flavorful food, I love the character this place has, and the workers were kind. I will definitely visit here again.

Tasty ramen. You do have to be proactive to get service moving.

This place is on basement and can be hard to find. It is rustic with Japanese style interior that resemble shops in Okinawa. Staffs were friendly but service was very slow despite they weren't full house. I had tonkatsu ramen, the noodle was springy with good texture but the soup was meh.. the charsiu and garnish couldn't help much too.

Great food at an affordable price. I recommend the Tonkotsu Ramen with Chicken or Pork. Also, the staff was quite friendly.

This place is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I feel like having a special supper, this restaurant comes straight to my head. excellent and all kinds of food and a rich menu.great staff members, and pleasant spirit. And very important, the charge is honest. I tell about this place with pleasure.
