Michelin star restaurant inside Hilton Hotel. Maybe the "Michelin star" has bumped up my expectations, it's a bit overrated. Pretty good neo-Thai cuisine but definitely not the most outstanding SE Asian restaurant in the area. Also, if you're not parking with the hotel, parking and walking in the area, which is famously known as Tenderloin, is a bit rough... Not really the restaurant's fault but my advice to anyone who is planning to visit - be extra careful...Parking: High risk area

Went before a show at the Orpheum. The service was very average. They didn’t really explain the menu, and they should offer more details on spice variability. We had the chicken wings, charred egg plant, Chinese noodles, and larb. The larb dish was inedible. It was dry and way too spicy, and only after begging the waitress to come over would she offer coconut milk. The other dishes were just average. Overall I’d skip this place.

Such an elevated version of all of our favorite flavors from visiting Thailand. Everything from the eggplant starter to their version of popular street food dishes to a rabbit green curry. Plus the cocktails are ?.

One of the best Thai places I've been to in the U.S. and I've tried a lot in Los Angeles and NYC. The Namprik long rua crispy catfish was spicy and flavorful, with real pungent kaffir lime flavors. The Gaeng Hed mushroom curry was an unexpected hit. The YAOWARAJ noodle which is like a Cantonese chow-fun or Malaysian char kway teow was flavorful with XO seafood sauce and charred flavors. Charred eggplant salad was umami filled goodness with birds eye chilis as a kick. Wish there were more people with us so we could try more dishes. Worth the hype.

Coming from Europe, Michelin star restaurants look a lot fancier but I was pleasantly surprised about the whole experience; delicious meals, lots of fresness and flavour, very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Definitely recommend

Seriously, not sure how the 1 Michelin star is obtained from this place, but Google review one star is well deserved. The server at our table has a strong ego on what he thought of us and what he wanted us to order. He pushed us from the beginning about the menus. The 2nd time he came back , he already showed his annoying face with a fake smile for our hesitation of ordering. Seems we are not welcome to ask any questions. The set dinner was $95 each person, he said we could get everything form the set, but we doubted that very much, however he walked away fast and busy with other matters in the restaurant. Once he came back to ask us to order dishes, Only one friend wanted to order the set, then he said we couldn't do it, it had to be everyone agrees on ordering the sets. We don't mind the clarification and we would have made other choices after, but we were upset his manner. My friends at the end of the table couldn't to think of what to order when option is out, so they kept thinking without any suggestions or assistance from the server. In order not to take up his "treasurable life time", I asked for taking my order first, but then he just pretended he wasn't understanding and used his way to split up our billing system first before we proceeded to make order. Wow.. we were going to eat under his regime. What a manner!A father of family ordered Laab Kua and the server wrote Caramelized Pork Belly instead. So the father told him it was not his dish, but the server actually insisted that the father ordered Caramelized Pork Belly and not even willing to check again and apologize at all.The server did not like to listen to us when we have questions and he just answered us in his way of thinking... That's why I said he had so much ego in him.He came back for filling up the water with his fake smile continuously. He might think we were the dumbest customer for his day? We don't deserve that.My friends ordered wings and noodles both are overly salty, I know they are easy going people, they don't really complain about anything when it is not necessary. So they told the server, he just said "ok, I will tell the chef l." That's it & he left immediately. We finally got a superior staff and told her about the salty dishes and I think she offered a discount on their bill secretly, however the server at our table provided the discount on another bill at the end (the same table of another family)... So I'm not sure he's not liking us ? Or he's just not happy with his job.Anyhow, u likely I will recommend this place or I will strongly not recommend this place at all.

Thai food that is also Michelin-listed in 2023Oh, but...why is it so un-Thai???Maybe I really don’t go to Thailand often~But I have never eaten these???That caramelized pork belly (isn’t it Dongpo pork??)It’s delicious, but is it Thai food ?I haven’t tried a few other dishes (e.g. Curry grilled fish??!?!?!?)The pho is also very burnt???So much so that when the waiter cares about the dining experienceI can only say very specialBut there is really no way to express how "very special" Mei Feng is in English?Sometimes Michelin is really subtle.

I’m curious who gave Kin Khao a Michelin star? I agree it’s one star, but not a Michelin star. Our table was very disappointed with the food. I found two pieces of hair in my rabbit curry. The pork belly was a salty gut bomb and the saeng wha, well don't get me started. Music is way to loud. Couldn’t even hear the person across the table from me. This is not worth the price, you can find way better Thai food at a better price in the city. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Bad experience for a Michelin star restaurant. I had high expectations and was let down. This experience has motivated me to become a food critic.

Food is very spicy - as expected in a traditional Thai restaurant. Beware if you’re sensitive to spicy foods especially deeply rich spices. All dishes were amazing and I’m excited to return. Food is extremely fresh, and all ingredients are very representative of authentic Thai cuisine paired perfectly with balanced spices used throughout the experience. Extra props for the perfect wine menu!I had never before tried pork belly - but I think I would come back here for that alone - it’s caramelized and comes out bubbling in cast iron.Absolutely delightful dining experience!

Finally not overly sweet thai place! Friend of mine recommended as one of the authentic thai places to check out in the city. Their thai tea was not overly sweet! Kao mun gai was so juicy and healthy. It might be not as interesting amongst super strong flavors, but fish sauce with spicy kick brought some colors to it. Many of entrees were unfamiliar, I wish to come back to try some more!
