Sign on window says to order through website. But wanted to sit and eat. Little confused. General Taos chicken was crispy but tough. Sauce had viscosity of mucus but tasted okay. Less sweet than what I'm use to. Dinner portion didn't come with any white rice. That's a first. There was one hair on one piece of chicken. I know this happens and didn't say anything. Tried to cut around it but lost track and ended up eating it. Really tough hair like bitting into uncooked angel hair pasta. Server was nice, attentive and started me off with nice cold water which was refreshing!

It was getting late and a Monday, not knowing the city very well we literally stumbled upon this place, I’m so happy we did. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food came out quicker than I ever expected, and it was hot and delicious. Probably some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had.. Next time I visit from Southern California this place is the top of my list.

ordered General Tso’s chicken, hot and sour soup, and fried rice, everything was bland bland bland, but i tried it bc of the ratings, but im literally gonna throw the rest of it away, not worth the calories

The mu shu pork was good but I would have expected more hoisin sauce - especially considering the fact that we paid for extra pancakes to make sure we had all the extras. The remaining entrees were mediocre. We used the website ordering system and ordered extra entrees to qualify for their free appetizer promotion. Upon checking the food at home, the free appetizers were nowhere to be found. I would not go back.

UPDATE:
After posting my first review, the owner for the establishment reached out to me and issued a partial refund to address the issue I had raised. This is exceptionally responsive and I have updated my service ratings to recognize that fact.

This cozy Chinese eatery is an absolute flavor explosion! The Hunan chicken is perfectly spiced, the shrimp fried rice is packed with deliciousness, and every bite leaves you craving more. But what truly sets this place apart is the owner—warm, hilarious, and downright inspiring. Amazing food, incredible vibes—this spot is a must-visit!

Amazing Chinese food with huge portions and great prices! The walnut shrimp is unbelievably good, and the garlic eggplant is packed with flavor. Lunch specials are an incredible deal. Friendly service and fresh ingredients make this a must-visit spot in SF. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is a hidden gem for delicious and satisfying Chinese food. The portions are huge, the flavors are spot on, and the menu has something for everyone—including amazing vegetarian options. Their lunch specials are an unbeatable deal, with generous servings at great prices. The steamed pork buns and Singapore noodles are a must-try! On top of the great food, the service is warm and welcoming, making every visit enjoyable. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or dining in, Kung Food delivers consistently excellent meals. If you’re in SF, this spot is definitely worth checking out!

Whole family GOT DIARRHEA after eating this place. All these five star review are fake. What a pathetic owner.

Dined in in '23 during my visit to SF.
Homie and I went for lunch there. The owner already knew my friend on a no-menu basis. We sat down, and the food came out within 10 min. I'm not sure what we ate to be honest because we didn't order off the menu, but it was really good, and we were charged a fair price. That was one of the more amusing experience I had during my SF visit. Andy, the owner is a very outspoken member of the community. He boldly claims his Christian faith and seeks justice for what has become of his hometown. Not to mention, big bro was a rapper. It was sad to hear about all of the break-in's and political attacks on his business. Despite enduring countless unrelenting hurdles, Andy remains unfazed, continues to provide excellent service to his customers. I'll definitely be back.
