La Ciccia is a mid-priced Sardinian restaurant that offers a charming dining experience with some minor flaws. The compact dining area has a lively atmosphere, though the noise level can make it difficult to hear conversations at larger tables. The service is generally kind, but water glasses may sit empty for too long. Food and service are consistently excellent, and the new owners have done an amazing job. The menu features a range of delectable Sardinian dishes, including favorites like the pork sauce gnochetti, which is praised for its intense savory flavor and perfect texture. The lamb tenderloin is excellent, with some guests wishing for more accompanying vegetables. The roe spaghetti and whole prawns are highly recommended, with the prawns served in a generous portion and cooked to perfection. The owner was lovely and brought out the lamb dish because she had forgotten to tell the server about the next dish, which was a thoughtful gesture.
Vegetarian options are limited, with a focus on seafood and meat dishes. Finding vegan options may be challenging. An outstanding meal included prosciutto, burrata, crackling bread, and the pasta special with an americanto-type sauce, all described as very authentic and delicious. Guests often change their travel plans to return here, excited to enjoy favorite dishes like Pani Guttiau, Casisceddu e Rughitta, Malloreddus a sa Campidanese, Pasta Cruzza cun Arrizonis, Gamberoisi Arrustiusu, and Pezza de Angioni a sa Saba. The owner’s thoughtful gesture of bringing out a special dish added to the memorable experience. Parking can be tricky, especially for larger cars, and the restaurant is generally casual enough for children above toddler age, though parents may need to inquire about simple dishes. Wheelchair accessibility is possible with some advance planning, as the tightly spaced tables and occasional crowding can pose difficulties.
Overall, La Ciccia offers exceptional Sardinian cuisine in a charming setting, with attentive service and a few minor drawbacks, making it a favorite for many visitors.
