All the food seemed a bit overcooked. Caesar salad was drenched in dressing; I would order dressing on the side. Cheese in the French onion soup was granular, not melt; my friend ordered scrambled eggs instead of sunny side up for her crepe but we couldn't find any egg. Waiter said it was scrambled into the crepe. ??? Crème fraiche on the crepe was heavy like the dressing in the Caesar - again, order it on the side. Wait staff was stand-offish with little congeniality. Best thing I can say is that it was pleasant to people watch from the outdoor table.
Really really good food. Had crepes and lamb sausage. My buddy and I were really happy with our meal. Would def go back again.

Had the most lovely late lunch at Bistro La Chaumière. I ordered the Caesar salad and prawns, and both were absolutely delicious. The service was also fantastic, my server paid very close attention to me and was both respectful and very kind. I will be coming back again soon, I recommend to everyone! :)

Amazing place where you can eat French Gallets like it should be everywhere, and I’m from Britany and can compare.
Congratulations, don’t change.

Fantastic crepes. Felt like I was back home. Would give move stars if I could. Crepes are gluten free and fillings have GF options.

Merchant did not tell us up front that there was one price if you pay cash and a different price if you pay with credit/debit card. It looked fishy to us. Plus when we ask for bread, not listed in the menu, they brough us a small basquet with 4 minuscule slices of bread. They charge us $5 for that. What a rip off. In general, food was good, but it looks like the merchant is playing the system. Not worth it.
It was kind of sad, to be honest. We were the only people in the restaurant, and they couldn't server us profiteroles because they had run out of ice cream. The Brussels sprout dish was good, interesting and exceeded my expectation. But the steak au poivre was disappointing. The sauce is key to that dish, and it was thin and lacked the richness that I expect. Too bad because San Francisco is in desperate need of better options for French cuisine.
Only reason I came here were the Mussels - Surpise: They were not available. Food was good. Service was very underwhelmimg. Don’t think I saw the server smile once. No friendly athmosphere - left early. Wouldnt go again.

Mediocre food and service. Ordered 4 dishes. They were all bland with low quality ingredients. The burger was greasy, the fries were soggy, pasta was undercooked, the bread was stale, muscles weren't fresh and lacked flavor. The chicken crepe was passable. We kept having to flag down the waiter while the place was mostly empty. Then they had the audacity to ask us to leave after an hour because there was a large reservation.

This was our first dinner at Bistro La Chaumiere and we really enjoyed it. For appetizers we tried the prawns in tomato sauce and the bacon, onion and cheese crepe, and for our entrees we tried the beef bourguignon and a side order of fries with aioli. We had the profiteroles for dessert. Everything was delicious and we look forward to returning.
