I loved this place so much I went back twice during my week in SFO. Highlights were the papaya salad and the lamb massaman curry for me. The matcha lava cake is a DEFINITE do not miss - love all the fresh fruit and the matcha ganache bomb! It does get quite loud when it gets busy, so earlier (5:30pm was a bit better for ambience). I don't drink, and wish the mocktail selection was a bit more expansive. The alcoholic cocktails looked fun and had great presentation for my dining...
This was my first meal at Lao Table. I chose Lao because I'm from the Midwest, in SF for a conference, and looking for ethnic cuisines that are hard to find back home. Several large parties arrived before me, so I was expecting a long wait for service -- but I was served quickly by a very attentive waiter. I ordered two dishes, and both were excellent. I will recommend Lao Table to friends and I hope to return sometime.
I came here for dinner and I knew prices would be expensive given the area, but I didn't realize it was THAT expensive. We got 6 pieces of chicken wings for $17. I ordered their Tom Yum soup and I sadly left feeling really hungry even though my total was ~$31.
Although the food was very pricey, I thought their wings had delicious fried garlic on them! The tom yum soup was good, but I wished it was more than just 16oz for $15.
