Great atmosphere, great drinks - but the staff had mixed up cards and charged other people’s tabs on my party’s tab. Happened for all of us, double check your tabs.

We came in on a Wednesday just before 8pm for their weekly trivia night. The trivia was difficult, but we still had a lot of fun. The decor was awesome, tiki/ plane wreck theme to it, very low lit. The bar seating had old, repurposed plane seats. The drinks were a little pricey but the amount of work they put into them was worth it, highly recommend the zombie killer. The bartenders were awesome.

The ambiance in this place is fun and interesting. It's a dangerous jungle vibe with greenery everywhere, skulls, water sound and more.

Drinks are good, both in taste and presentation. Recommended last rite (which is a well presented mai tai) and violet vixen.

Fun decor, but overpriced drinks and lack of snacks make this bar worth skipping.

After walking inside this dimly-lit, plane crash themed establishment, be ready to look at a soiled menu and pay at least $14 for even the most basic drinks — plus a mandatory 5% fee — and a tip. There's going to be a mandatory 20% gratuity charge for checks split 3 or more ways, open tabs, and parties of six or more. Food is not allowed to be brought in, so either sneak it in or pay $5 for wonton strips. While some of the cocktails are alluring, you can find similar options for less, without going very far.

If you do decide to visit, this bar is good for groups of up to eight people because there are two nooks in the back with a bunch of seats. Service was great, the restrooms were tidy, and the tables and seats were clean.

Bottom line: This isn't a bad place, but get ready to pay for it.

Instagram trap.

We were a party of four and waited in line to get in. When we got in, no table was available but we were told we had to order from a server even though we were standing. No problem with that. However, the party that came in after us with a larger party was seated first. A little annoying but still, no problem. Larger table for a larger party.

We ordered our drinks and opted for an open tab since we had more friends coming.
We had two more friends meet us. A booth happened to open up so we took it. We sat down and ordered another round of drinks and closed the tab. Since two people joined us they made us pay a mandatory 20% tip like they're a restaurant. Mind you, we stood most of the time and let our friends order off our tab after they arrived later to make payment easier.

We were also never formally seated, we had to seek out our own seating.

I'm a Bay Area native and I'm pissed off at myself for falling for the instagram bait. Don't be scammed by this tourist Disneyland bar. Drinks were just ok. Not with the hype!

Eugene was very attentive. He had an amazing smile and truly a fun amount of energy. 10/10 would come back again. He recommend me a new drink. I will tell all my friends to come through and show their faces.

It took us 25 minutes to get our drinks after receiving our check. The drinks are fun, the atmosphere is cool, but we've got to be more timely with the drinks man

Wow what a terrible experience. I can honestly say that this was the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a bar and the drinks I tried did not make up for it in the slightest.

My partner and I visited on a Monday early evening and sat at the low bar seats. The first thing I noticed was a rat poison bait box directly next to my feet. But hey, it’s a humid place so I got over it.

The bar interior is definitely well decorated and I liked how immersive it was— the one plus to our visit.

My partner and I are tiki enthusiasts as I assume many guests who visit last rites are. While we don’t expect to be talked to at length during service or doted upon, it was disappointing that we were completely ignored by the bar back and bartender after receiving water glasses. We would have loved to get a little bit of a friendly conversation in with either of them. Instead, we waited— and I am not exaggerating— 25 minutes for two drinks during non peak hours on a Monday.

The Death & Ruin was unbalanced and managed to be too tart and not tart enough at the same time. Permanent Midnight was better, but still bitter and muddled.

Despite the lackluster first drinks we would have tried another round, except we were never checked on again. We had long finished our water glasses and bottle with no refills, as well as our cocktails and were staring into the abyss before anyone came around again, so we eagerly closed out— after all we had already been there for an hour and felt unwelcome all the while.

Unfortunately my experience at Last Rites was not a great one. I really wanted to like the place because the interiors and drinks were great, but it more than just the rum that left a bitter taste after our visit.
Wee waited 45 minutes to receive our drinks and that was after flagging down two different servers to take our order after waiting for 20 minutes. The same servers tended the two parties on either side of us and both parties were able to sit down, order, finish their drinks, and leave before we even got our drinks. I had to flag a server again and was given the response that the drinks were on their way, but at that point the bar was clearing out at 11:30 pm and the bartenders were mostly cleaning. It seems that they may have forgotten our drink orders because after I had flagged the server, they came out within minutes.

Overall, our experience here wasn’t great and we’ll just stick out our regular tiki bar haunts instead. I’m sure that there must’ve been some sort of miscommunication between the servers as it was initially busy when we walked in, but after seeing how all other other tables were being tended to but ours, I will not not be recommending this place to friends
