New favorite cocktail bar in SF, Last Rites is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by carefully salvaged treasures from aviation history. The space is crafted entirely from salvaged plane parts, creating a uniquely immersive atmosphere.

But as much as the decor transports you, it’s the cocktails that really make the experience. Their drink menu is so creative and unique. There's one drink in particular that includes Sichuan leaves, you're recommended to take a sip and then chew on the leaves that are laced with an electrifying tingle that give you an unexpected numbing sensation. SO FUN!!

The bartenders are happy to guide you through the selection, explaining the inspiration and unique ingredients in each drink. You can tell that they really take pride in the drinks and their passion is contagious. They're as much storytellers as mixologists, turning a night out into a journey filled with flavors you won’t find anywhere else. If you're looking for a place where the bartenders are as captivating as the drinks, Last Rites is an absolute must!!

I love the concept they had for Halloween. I will definitely come back solely based on the cocktails. I had a lot of trust in them to order a drink with pickled mushrooms but I don’t regret it at all. The layout is great. There was mixed seating and space carved out so that our group felt a bit more partitioned/private.

The BEST bar to spend Halloween! I walked in anticipating a quick drink and seeing some costumes on Halloween. Little did I know, there was a whole involved themed murder mystery with a cult and the FBI unfolding! So many props to Last Rites and its staff for coming up with this incredible puzzle, which brought the entire place together to try to solve its mysteries.

In town for a wedding, we checked out a few local tiki spots and enjoyed Last Rites! Since we were visiting during Halloween, they had their escape-room-esque murder mystery game you could play which was both impressive, immersive, and seriously fun! It’s very obvious the team here are great bartenders but also creatives dedicated to the immersive experience. We got the Zombie Killer (x2 because it’s so tasty) and a Glass Ruby and enjoyed them both.

Last Rites is by far one of the coolest bars in SF! The drinks and service are top notch and when you enter this bar you feel as though you were transported into the jungle! It’s an experience you really need to have when you’re exploring the city!

Cool space. Can be a little tough to get a seat, because this spot is understandably very popular. I’ve always gotten a table eventually, though. The drinks are delicious, and there’s a LOT of variety in the options.
My favorite thing by far is how passionate and knowledgeable some of the staff are about rum, though. We came in late on a Sunday once and sat at the bar. The bartender essentially gave us a crash course in rum history, production techniques, and different flavor profiles, and let us try a bunch of different rum styles. The bar also has some kind of partnership with a new rum producer each month, I think, encouraging you to try new things.

I was denied entrance by security whom was more entertained on the phone upon walking up. I walked up at 10:32 and he stated it was past last call. At that point I was interested in looking at this bar/environment since it had been on my list and I happened to be in the area. After asking again to look around he said no. The place was still open since it closes at 11pm. I checked your website and did not see anything about not allowing people in after last call.

Amazing immersive experience. No detail was spared. And the drinks were expertly crafted. We had Last Rites, Monkey Puzzle and Zombie Killer. Great use of Pisco. It got really busy as the night went on, but the staff kept everything moving. A very fun time!

We are in the process of collecting witness statements. My fiance was with her diverse group of black and hispanic friends and they were sitting at a table. Apparently, the "manager" kicked her and her friend's out of the bar because they "drunk" after they had ONE drink while they were sitting at a table talking. If she was drunk I would understand and I would support the manager's decision as I want my fiance to be safe. But, I met up with fiance and her friends right after the incident and they were sober as a judge! I'm sure they are not the first people that this has happened to; but, let’s be clear  —  no business can kick people out just because they’re Black or Hispanic. San Francisco is a diverse city and I can't imagine this bar staying open much longer if this is the pattern.

Stood outside waiting for the 6pm opening on a Saturday. The doorman refused to engage with us or look at us. When he played the sound bite to come in he looked super bored like he hates his job. Then he finally opens the door and won’t even speak to us and just points to the door with no smile or friendly attitude. We try to ignore the unwelcoming presence and go inside only to meet our waiter who is equally UNFRIENDLY and BORED. Why do either of these dudes even work here? We decided to just have a drink and skip on over to Zombie Village tiki bar. Waaaay better on all accounts.

Tip- there is no food here but if you need a quick nibble there is a pizza-by-the slice counter across the street.

Unique experience! If you're in SF and looking for somewhere that's a mix of great drinks and an awesome atmosphere, hit up Last Rites Tiki Bar. This place is like stepping into a choose-your-own-adventure book, but with cocktails so good you'll forget you're not actually on a tropical island.

Drinks: Top-tier. I've visited several tiki bars, and Last Rites crafts the best cocktails. Each drink is a masterpiece, perfectly balancing flavors.

Service: Could use some warmth. The staff seemed a bit aloof, possibly due to a tough crowd or just an off day.

Overall: Definitely visit for the stellar drinks and decor. Service could improve, but the ambiance and cocktails make it worth it.

As big fans of tiki bars, we were excited to check out Last Rites. From the start, we were impressed with the super friendly service and fun ambiance. Once we realized it is the sister bar of Horsefeather, another of our favorites in the city, we had high hopes.

_As soon as you step inside, you step inside to a dark, jungle atmosphere with the wreckage of a plane looming over the bar. The vibes are spot on, and capture the intended atmosphere perfectly, without feeling overly cheesy or cheeky.

To start, I got the Lion's Paw while my partner got the Permanent Midnight. The Lion's Paw was very refreshing and quaffable with a nice fruitiness, while the Permanent Midnight had a rich and complex flavor, with a nice banana aftertaste.

For the second round, I got the Last Rites while my partner got the Blood Moon. The Blood Moon had a nice combination flavors with citrus, sparkling wine and the mezcal providing a nice balance of Tang, smoothness and smokiness, but our favorite of the night was definitely the Last Rites. The namesake drink of the bar did not disappoint; although strong, the drink was incredibly smashable with a beautiful blend of flavors that finished with a nice saltiness from the salted molasses. We love this drink and would come back here just to order more rounds of this drink alone!

Highly recommend this bar for great service, a fun atmosphere, and tasty drinks!
