TLDR: classic French restaurant that has a decent happy hour and decent though pricey food (non happy hour)
My favorite bite was the croquette. The small salad is very very small, and I did enjoy the deviled egg. The main we got to share was the cassoulet and the portion was huge and shareable. Tons of protein with beans and a few different types of meat.

Love this restaurant and have been coming here for years., but the prices will ensure that once the lease is up the place will no longer exist. Friday lunch with only three tables occupied plus Willie Brown and group. The menu has been the same for years and nothing to appeal for younger crowd or even some of us older crowd for that matter. Hope they get the message. No one having wine and with the least expensive glass at $18 who would unless they have more $$$ then sense.
Love the vibe of this small initimate french restaurant; loving the attentive service and fabulous food selections! Everything was amazing
The deviled eggs were not anything special. They served our soup and salad before we were finished with our appetizers. They served the mussels too soon and they were cooled down. The chocolate mousse was boring. All seemed rushed and mediocre.
The food was wonderful. The staff was good; my waiter was very friendly and efficient, the other staff was less welcoming. The ambiance was very Parisian.
ABSOLUTELY my favorite restaurant downtown SF! Ambiance. Class. Kindness. Cuisine. Service. Value. Romance. No better place for a date. It was my girlfriend's bday yesterday. They let me bring the gifts in early so I could surprise her. When I walked in with my girlfriend they had the gifts laid out at the best table in the restaurant.
Le Central is one of the old time SF gems that we have eaten at often over the years. The service and food was very good. Duck rilettes, mussels, sole meunière were delicious. Then main room with red booths has the most charm.
Pleasant evening, service was professional and not rushed. Food was great, classic French.
Went for Christmas Eve family brunch. The food is excellent- I enjoyed the Beef Bourguignon which was tender & delicious. Others had the Salmon & the Le Central burger. The food is excellent, atmosphere feels like a neighborhood bistro & service impeccable. Would highly recommend.

A lovely French restaurant with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The dishes were tasty and well prepared, and we were served fresh bread with butter, which was a nice touch. Service was good throughout the meal, making the overall experience very enjoyable. Desserts are a must try.
Better to uber to the restaurant, parking is tricky

Aweful door service, lady standing there wont spela to me. Said table was free and it wasnt, i was left wandering around the resurant. Wont tell me how long or how here to wait.
Had dinner before a show at SF Playhouse and it was the PERFECT spot. The service was phenomenal - warm, welcoming and attentive. Food and drinks were fantastic, especially for “girl dinner” - truffle fries, salmon cake, French onion soup + kir royale and French 75s. Happy hour is bar seating only. Absolutely coming back.

One of my most favorite city restaurants. Great menu and selection, delicious food, attentive service...updated decor, but still feels like a special San Francisco restaurant.
Great evening at this fun SF bistro. The drinks, food and wine were perfect and the cassoulet was the best I've had anywhere. Can't wait to try again on our next visit. Cheers!
