loved the decor and ambiance. Friendly staff and good service. Food was not great I would describe it as clumsy. It is a small menu which I like but they were out of 3 items at 6 pm on a Saturday night all of which tells me they need better kitchen management.

In a hidden alley, this French Colonial building serving high-end French Vietnamese food that is excelllent and expertly crafted cocktails is a lovely oasis in downtown. Friendly, accommodating service with great support from the kitchen and the bar. What a treat!

Our server and support staff were excellent, as was the food. We hadn't been here in many years and the current wine list was disappointing, very limited selection, and what we ordered wasn't available. The decor and general condition of the restaurant has seen better days.

I have dined at Le Colonial several times over the years. I really enjoy the French/Asian fusion in Vietnamese cuisine. The restaurant itself has a nice patina of history and stands out from other restaurants in the area. Previously I have dined indoors, but tried the covered courtyard/garden this time. Service was excellent as usual. Worth finding!

Fabulous dinner to celebrate my 2 friends' birthdays. Great cocktails and generous portions for food to share! Lively decor and staff.

We love going to the Le Colonial for our anniversary dinner. This year was again absolutely wonderful. The food was excellent as was the service. We are looking forward to returning next year for our 54th anniversary dinner.

Unfortunately the restaurant is past its prime. 7 of us went to catch up and remember the restaurant as not being noisy so selected it. It wasn't crowded, servers were friendly but, painfully slow. We waited over an hour between appetizers and when our main courses finally arrived. We all ordered different entrees and no one particularly cared for theirs. Ambience was old and worn. Sorry to say, I wouldn't recommend, not worth the money.

What a great experience! We were the last table seated for the evening as we just arrived from out of state. We were greeted warmly and given all of their attention. We never felt rushed and the food was excellent. Admittedly, we over ordered on the apps because we couldn't merrier the list below three. Instead we opted to the split the shaken beef entree. We made the right choice! All of the appetizers were wonderful. It was hard leaving a few pieces of the Tiger Shrimp and the Potstickers behind. Next time we're intoning guest so that we can try even more. Sana (sp?) our waiter was also top notch. Lastly, they mix a mean cocktail! Give these guys a try, the food is every bit as good as it looks in the photos.

Good is amazing- the dragon dumpling were succulent and very tasty- savory and cooked just right. Prawn curry was sublime as were the eggplant and Brussels sprout dishes. Cocktails were on point too. I've been many times and I'll be back. SO good!

We haven't been to Le Colonial for a decade. We loved it then and we were pleased to find the food as delectable as the first time that we dined there. The dishes were unique and scrumptious. It was so special to taste the different flavors of Vietnamese fare which were so incredibly exotic and healthy. The ambience is fabulous! They could film a movie inside of this restaurant(Indiana Jones). I love the colonial decor. The parking was next to the restaurant with a guard onsite for just $10. We left our car there and went to see Cher at The Curran just a five minute walk from the restaurant. When we returned after 10pm the guard was still there. No issues with the car. I will definitely return to this little gem of a restaurant in San Francisco. LOVED IT!
