Hot speakeasy. Cool decor. Great atmosphere. Tasty drinks. On par with NYC.

⭐ 1 Star — Unprofessional Last-Minute Cancellation
My group reserved Sunday brunch here months in advance, back when the restaurant actively promoted its brunch online with detailed sample menus. Guests were traveling from across the Bay Area — some over an hour away — for this gathering.

On the morning of our reservation, one friend noticed that all Sunday brunch menus and advertisements had been removed from the website. Concerned (especially since one guest has celiac disease), I emailed to confirm the menu.

Just 30 minutes before our reservation, as we were already on our way, I received a call saying brunch was canceled due to “equipment not working.” I was told the issue occurred the night before during a private party, yet somehow the restaurant only realized they couldn’t operate that morning, right before our arrival.

No one had warned us sooner, no alternatives were offered, and the apology felt perfunctory. Combined with the sudden website changes, the situation came across as disorganized at best and misleading at worst.

A deeply disappointing experience — 1 star for the complete lack of professionalism and communication.

Adored the atmosphere and the drinks were elevated and delicious. The service however left much to be desired. They were confused a lot, I didn’t feel taken care of. Couldn’t tell who our server was, so it took a minute to order our first drink. They took one of our menus before they took our first order. Strange. Then after 1 drink, closed our tab after I said we would be ordering more, only to open another one. Presumably due to a server’s shift ending, but they didn’t bother communicating that. I also wish they would have communicated what time the kitchen closes, because by the time I wanted to order food - it was closed already. It was a super busy Saturday, so maybe an off night. But the service didn’t match the experience advertised.

Exactly the vibe I was looking for! Visiting from Toronto for work and was looking for the perfect spot for a night cap (or two)—Left Door delivered 👌

Bartender was lovely and accommodating, great cocktails. I’ll definitely be back!

Visited with 5 guests. Was told we could sit if space was available. After sitting for a bit we were told to move from the seats we found, then told rudely to move multiple times before a server got aggressive with us. Ended up speaking with Rachel the GM but left since we no longer felt comfortable with the aggressive.

Truly a great experience. The ambiance is unique and not comparable to other places in SF. It’s cozy, dim, and is a great date spot. The cocktails are well done, and the menu is great. I had sliders and a couple other things. No crumbs left behind. Highly recommend, and the owner is cool too!

Decent drinks and friendly service, but extremely crowded and loud on a Saturday night. Crowd was mostly 20-30 somethings on dates. Reserve in advance for a table. Worth a visit but not a destination.

Bumping spot with a buzzing bar and pretty good martinis. The actual space was quite crowded on a Saturday which is understandable, but the hostess was awesome and very helpful with finding us a spot at the bar. I probably wouldn't prioritize coming back, but it was good time.

I came here last year and it was great - food, drinks, whole vibe very cool and chic and high end. Went last night and sorry to say it’s now a basic marina crows post college drunk fest. And. I got two cocktails that were badly made, short pours and they cost me $50. Big bummer left door. You had it and… you lost it. There should never be sediment in the bottom of a $25 Manhattan glass and yeah, you made the worst St. Germain Spritz ever. So much sofa water. Extremely lame.

Had an amazing night at Left Door in San Francisco. Literally left 30 minutes ago and had to make this review the minute I got home. My group worked our way through a handful of cocktails—Redwood, Vesper, Manhattan, G&T, and a couple others Emma helped us whip up—and every single one was truly world class. Perfect balance, thoughtful execution, and that “wow” factor you want from a great cocktail bar.

What really made the night unforgettable though was Emma, our bartender/server. She absolutely knocked it out of the park. Not only was every drink dialed in, but she brought so much warmth, energy, and knowledge to the experience. She turned a great night into an outstanding one. Honestly, Left Door wouldn’t shine the same without her.

Highly recommend for anyone who loves cocktails. 🍸

Made a reservation, and then cancelled it. But they charged me a cancellation fee of $60. What a joke.

Food is good but everything else sucked. Service is slow. Drinks are the worst and overpriced.

As many have said already, the place is perfect, or at least our visit was. Our drinks were on point, and service fast, attentive, and friendly. We even found the pricing reasonable, given the quality. And no SF mandate junk fees. Great job, Left Door.
