The menu lost a lot of options and the food slipped from the last several times I was there

I had a reservation here to dine with a colleague but upon arrival, the restaurant was closed. I did not get any alert of any kind. I called the restaurant and nobody answered. I was very disappointed.

Do not make a reservation here unless you have a backup plan. As many others have mentioned, they frequently shut down with no notification. I booked a reservation through Open table for 10/17 and received a text the day before to confirm. I replied “yes I’ll be there “. Got there and note on the door said closed for private event. They have no regard for their customers. Unprofessional and inconsiderate.

I rarely give negative reviews, but when a restaurant doesn't let you know that they are closed due to a big client (Salesforce) and event (Dreamforce) until you arrive to find a note stuck on the door (even after confirmation of the reservation via text) then I feel this warrants a call-out. To add insult to injury the note even got the month wrong. I would have understood and made other arrangements had I been informed, but I was never given that opportunity. Bad form Leo's.

Horrible! They close randomly and do not respect reservations. Many complaints in Open Table app stating bad food, clients feel stood up, no courtesy call. This happened to me. No one called to say the restaurant would be closed and no call since. See Open Table comments before you book.

Made reservations for 4 pm Friday for a birthday celebration. Arrived at 4, closed, 4:10 closed. Called, no one answered. No one informed us of closure. Sign on the door said they would reopen Friday at 4. Very rude and disappointing.

Arrived with my group on Monday night, 30-40% of the menu was unfortunately unavailable. The food that was avail was good but it was a bummer to have the main bites not be available.

Me and my sister popped into Leo’s for their Happy Hour at 3:30pm. We were the only patrons which was quite nice. Our server was really friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We ordered exclusively from the Happy Hour Menu. Keep in mind, the portions on this menu are small bites, snacks if you will. We shared the Oysters, Calamari, Shrimp Cocktail and Cod Bites. All items were very tasty. The cod was flaky and not overcooked and the calamari was not rubbery. I was surprised with the shrimp cocktail. It is not a traditional presentation. The shrimp are dressed with cocktail sauce and served in a bowl. But they were delicious. Flavourful, not overcooked and the cocktail sauce was really good. The oysters were good too, but west coast oysters are very different to east coast oysters, which I prefer. But they were good to experience. I would definitely recommend Leo’s for Happy Hour.

Had a fairly awkward experience trying to go for dinner. We had a reservation but then when we got there it seems as though you can't make reservations online. No one actually greeted us or asked for our seating details for over 5 minutes so we ended up just leaving. Major bummer.

What happened to this place? A new owner maybe? Food, totally fell off a cliff and now it's still mega expensive but has lost itself. Very very sad!

I made a reservation at Leo's for a party of six at 6pm on April 29th. I made the reservation at least a week in advance. I received a confirmation from OpenTable the day prior to my reservation. Imagine my surprise then, when the first in my party to arrive, called me to say he had tried to check in for our reservation and was told that the restaurant was closed for a private party. He stepped outside to call me and let me know this and I sent him a screen shot of my OpenTable reservation to show the restaurant. But when he attempted to re-enter, the restaurant had LOCKED HIM OUT and would not even open the door to have a conversation. When I arrived, I also attempted to get someone's attention but they ignore us. This was during the week of the RSA conference at Moscone Center, so many restaurants were full and we had to scramble to find another location for our party of 6 which obviously delayed our plans, was extremely inconvenient, and put everyone in a bad mood to start our evening. It appeared from looking at reviews and talking to a couple outside the restaurant who were also trying to go inside that this is not the first time this restaurant has done this. This is completely unacceptable behavior from a dining establishment. If they had booked a private event, they should not have shown reservations even available on OpenTable and at the very least, if the event was schedule after I made my reservation, they should have shown me the courtesy of contacting me and letting me know they had to cancel so I could find a replacement before my friends all showed up at 6pm to discover we had no place to eat. And the locking out and refusing to even speak with us was just unacceptable and frankly, horrible, behavior. Needless to say, I will never eat at this restaurant, I will never recommend it to anyone, and for all of my colleagues and friends in San Francisco, I will spread the word not to touch this place with a ten-foot pole.

I am very dissapointed with my experience. I went onto Open Table and picked the restaurant and made my reservation. I took an Uber across town and after I got dropped off I found out they were closed for a private event. I messaged them on Open Table and they ignored me.

Wish I could write an actual review true to the dining experience- however we showed up on my birthday to a sign that said “closed for private event.” No notification from the restaurant and I had even confirmed my reservation. A shame since we wasted transit time getting here and could've spent the time at another seafood place that would've actually serviced us!

I used to love Leo's a for lunch when I worked in the city 8 years ago. My husband picked it randomly for our monthly date night in the city, and we absolutely LOVED it. The space is even more gorgeous at night, the glowing onyx bar is everything. They have the best raw bar, our oysters topped with caviar were amazing and the crudo plate with Salmon, Tuna and Hamachi was the best I have ever had. I would recommend ordering raw bar and lots of small plates to share over the entrees (with the exception of the fish and chips which were amazing) The owner gave us a tour of private event rooms in the back, both are so gorgeous and special. I booked "The Hideaway" for my sisters bachelorette party . Anna (the amazing owner) served us the most delicious rum punch, and planned the entire event for me on the spot. Leo's is very special.
