One of my favorites. I've moved away from SF but still enjoy this place when I get to visit. Pastries and coffee! ?

Wonderful bakery! Great croissants, danishes and a variety of other goodies. Very friendly owners too. Truly a taste of French boulangeries right here in the city

The pastries are visually very on-point and well executed. The texture of the galette des rois was ?- very buttery, crispy and flaky.I found the flavors/taste, however, to be lacking. I’m not sure if the patisserie normande (pastries from Normandy) are supposed to be mild and delicate, but I found myself wanting more flavor - more distinct almond, hazelnut and lemon flavors. I didn’t feel very satisfied because everything kind of tasted the same.I agree with other reviewers that the owners are warm and welcoming but that the prices are high for the quality. This place is probably great for the usual suspects - like butter, ham/cheese, chocolate croissants…

Wonderful atmosphere, beautiful space and delicious treats! I felt transported to France! Owners are originally from France, they speak French and I got to practice my French as well! The owner is super inviting, she greeted me as soon as I walked in! Offered a free puff pastry that was fresh and crisp and yummy!! The croissant is extraordinary! Definitely will enjoy again!! ????

Hands down the best croissants I’ve ever had! There’s a lot to choose from and everything here is great, it’s owned by a French family and they’re always super friendly.

Can’t believe I have lived in soma six months and I haven’t come here. It’s amazing totally traditional/authentic like you’re in Paris. I’ve tried four things already and this is just day one. I’ll come back here no matter where I live. Drop by and meet these lovely French bakers

What a hidden gem! Must try if you stay at the Intercontinental. It is only 4 minutes away by walk.

I have made it a sort of mission to scout out all the best bakeries in San Fransisco. After finding such gems like b. and Arsicault and Jane, I thought it couldn't get much better. That's why when I saw their sign when driving downtown claiming to be the best bakery, I was a little flabbergasted and also felt a challenge.I walked in and was transported back to Paris where I spent 4 amazing years. I couldn't believe the authentic craftsmanship and artistry of the pastry. Then I saw the chouquettes, a pastry I thought I would never see again without going back to Paris. They were mind blowingly delicious. If you are a Francophile this place is a must. The prices took me a bit aback but I was happy to pay knowing that there is now a family providing high quality traditional French patisserie options for us out here that miss that food or desire for a non-Americanized/fusion experience but an authentic taste of another culture.

Best croissant in SF :)

A little bit overpriced however interesting selection. Almond croissant was a bit soggy however very tasty. Coconut cookie was way too dry and hard to chew (although pigeons outside liked it). Free puffs shared by sales guy were fresh and outstanding. Dripping coffee was not just bad, but horrible! Requires urgent improvement for the price it is.Outside seating tables were very dirty and sticky. Had to clean before setting down. Will try some other place next time.

Most authentic French bakery in SF! Close your eyes and pick literally whatever pastry they have in the case. You'll fall in love.

Delicious French pastries in a cute, very clean little shop.

I personally think this may be one of the best bakeries in San Francisco. Owners are super nice. Free coffee on Wednesday.

Visited Les Gourmands near our hotel last week, and it was just a French pastry paradise. The croissants (plain, almond) were so light and flaky, and the choquettes so utterly airy. Definitely one of the best French patisseries I’ve had in the US!
