Limón is a solid Peruvian food option in San Francisco if you are looking for traditional roasted chicken and ceviche.

Here's what I recommend you order (for 2 people):

* Ceviche de pescado clásico (rate 3.5 or 4 out of 5 stars, $22): they use very large chunks of Pacific red snapper. I wish the pieces were cut up a little smaller to make them bite sized as most cevicherias do. Flavor was good though - nice sourness to the ceviche.

My partner and I had chicken and beef empanadas - 2 small fried empanadas each and fresh garden salad plus coffee and tres leches cake. The food was good but the prices were steep for rather basic dishes. When I requested black tea, there was none, and when I needed a to-go cup for my coffee, there were none. The cake was nice, although we would have appreciated more Peruvian desserts. The service was great. Even when they did not have what we requested, we were treated kindly...
Soggy sweet potato fries. Aji Amarillo sauce that came with the chicken was almost inedible it was so salty. The chicken itself was good but for the price I’d make the trek to RT rotisserie and have a better chicken for half the price with better sauces and sides every darn time. I expected more. Sad.
